Soon as one does it they all have to do it. We're in a situation now where everything has to be available instantly. Remember when supermarkets were shut on a Sunday. Nobody died because of it. When nobody had a mobile phone we survived. We dont really need the things being delivered on a Saturday night. We are slowly becoming slaves to consumerism and things that apparently make our lives so much better and yet people seem to be more unhappy than they have ever been.
This is the world Royal Mail wants to be part of. Tragic really

I think you're right All these surveys telling us that people want to order late at night and have it delivered the next morning are all BS. Just like the surveys saying Nobody wants Bank Branches anymore, or Noone wants to use Cash anymore. The Results of these Bogus Surveys suit the aims of Big Business and Banks because they save them money. I don't believe they truly reflect the feelings of the general public.

I believe that most couriers can be up to 22:00 for residential addresses

10 oclock is ridiculous unless it's something truly urgent and you know its on its way. Might be ok for grocery deliveries but not contact lenses and trainers.

The evri guy that comes to mines is great but.I feel sorry for him I got a text at 11am saying he would be at my house between 20:00 and 22:00 that's a long day and he's old and slow.Nice guy but he's got to be past retirement age.its crap what people have to do to make money.

i received a parcel at 7.50pm the other night right in the middle of the football,needless to say i will not be ordering off that company again and emailed them to tell them that,after a hard days work while im relaxing in the evening i do not want couriers banging on the door,can you imagine the elderly afraid to open their door at that time of night,its a disgrace and should be made illegal in my opinion

Most couriers will give you a 2hr time slot once the van has headed out, did they not send you a time slot?

Evri send you an email and a text with a 2 hour window, but if this changes they only send an email. Do they think people sit at their computers all day.
i had one the other Saturday scheduled between 17:30 and 19:30, came at 20:15 asked the driver why it wasn't by 19:30, he blamed the weather.
Looked at my emails next day and there was one saying the delivery window had changed. I didn't ask for this to be delivered on a Saturday.

Today I had 3 Evri packets in my tracked, told to just take them
All going to an Evri collection point (in a local Tesco) and all refused by said collection point as "we don't take Royal Mail".
So all going well down Evri

I had one and dumped it on managers desk, didn't come back to me, don't see why I should be taking their stuff.
Plain light grey plastic wrapping, didn't have a return address on it so don't know what company it came from or what happened to it.

Slightly different situation had a Boots box that was marked DPD. Delivered that as it was probably chucked into york directly from Boots by mistake so
was accounted for by volume/weight.

Surely any packets that aren’t Royal Mail get sent to Mail centre for surcharging.

You would have thought so wouldn't you, but there you go.....a lot of s**t always seems to flow down to the 'last mile' to deal with
when it should be dealt with earlier, but I know what people will say 'Haven't got enough time/staff'.

You can order stuff on Amazon before midday to arrive that same day. Most deliver upto 10pm nowadays.

Exactly the same is happening with our Caller Service Points (CSP)

RM say they're going to close the CSPs because they're not being used! Could the reason be they're not being used is because they keep varying the opening times day to day and the the public never know what time they're open?

Anyone would think that they've done it intentionally!
