............. 40/50 parcels for a fair days pay.
You must be one of the reasons that ST wants to screw over everyone else to make RM more efficient if that's all you can
do for 'a fair days pay' on a parcels only day even if it's a rural!!

How on earth do you manage when you've got letters as well?

Problem is the trolls hijack every post on this site.
I have no doubt some of these Trolls have been tasked with spreading the ST vision on social media. One thing we know is that ST loves Social Media, he reminds me of Donald Trump and those really weird Tweets he used to put out.

Whats the answer? I basically ignore ANY posts by the Usual Suspects, you can add them to your "Foe" list so you don't see their posts. It would be helpful if everyone else stopped "Quoting" them as you then get their original post. :arrrghhh

As a lot of people say "Stop Feeding the Trolls" if you engage with them then they're winning! :cuppa

I have 8 hours. 40 minute lunch. Couple of toilet stops. Van check. Probably leaves me with 6 and half hours (390 minutes). Divide that by 50 and it means a parcel delivered every 8 minutes or so (probably nearer 7 minutes as I also have to get back to the office and hand in 739s/park the van etc)
Which is about 9 parcels an hour.

Unless you want me to ignore speed restrictions, not attempt neighbours, not do a van check and leave parcels in bins and such! Oh, and work through my break!!

Angard worker here. Not working strike days on principle. But not been offered shifts this week anyway. Or for the last month. And we are all on maybe one shift a week. So not sure if there’s some cunning ‘we don’t use casuals much’ thing going on.
Only temps getting shifts are RM Xmas casuals.
Do you have other work apart from Royal Mail? Surely you cant live off maybe one shift a week?!

I've tried to ignore the bickering about name calling, but this thread has been hijacked now. Any serious post is being lost in the bickering over name calling.

Firstly, there's no point posting to say the name calling needs to stop, when it has stopped, you're just restarting it, any halfwit can see that.

Secondly, Simon Thompson isn't rubbing his hands and saying "My plan is working perfectly, they're all calling FilthyBloke names." I'm sorry to say this he couldn't care less about FilthyBloke or anyone calling him.

Thirdly, you can't come on to a Royal Mail forum, on a industrial dispute thread, and gloat about working during the strike action, wearing the managers hi-viz and walking around the beach, and not expect to get a reaction from men and women who are panicking about job losses, and paying bills, over Christmas. There was a 98% yes vote. You're in the minority.

People who work a strike are never going to looked on favourably. It's the union movement that got us paid holidays, paid sick, paid breaks, employment rights, you get the gist. If the sacrifice made by those workers hadn't been made there'd be none. If the sacrifice by us to protect those things isn't made, it's all lost. You have all heard this, and you all know it. If you post on here professing your intention to work the strike, I can see its only for one of three reasons.

1) You're looking for support to justify what you feel bad about.
2) You're trying to demoralise and undermine a striking workforce.
3) You're just a plain old troll who likes being the contrarian, and thinks it funny.

I'd also add, if you're a manager and doing this, just remember, you're 2nd from the bottom, not 2nd from the top. It's gonna get you if we lose.

You've given yourself 50 minutes to do a van check and have a couple of toilet breaks.
You've told us the boss is bringing the parcels to you and yet you are taking the van and 739's back.
It's now 50, not 40-50 parcels and you have assumed all the parcels are going to different addresses.
All smells a bit fishy to me.

Is that on a rural? Because 9 parcels an hour is nowhere near the Royal Mail standard for town duties. It's 20 an hour as far as I remember, or has all that been done away with?

Iv already stated I have not in reality broke any picket. Merely highlighting why some would choose to do it out in the sticks where no one can see them.
Why would anyone want to be abused at work?
I bet most strike breakers don’t actually want to come in but feel they have to because maybe they have other priorities.
Like it’s been mentioned in another thread though, the courageous warriors on the picket lines who sacrifice everything for freedom and peace are not going to agree with the ‘rats’ who might well be already on the bread line with no room to manoeuvre.

So I will stick to my stance, which is support the CWU for as long as I can, but I will not forsake anyone who feels they cannot commit to it.

If he doesn’t want an agreement, why are we striking?
To force him to give us a reasonable agreement, obviously
I thought the point you were making was that he doesn’t want an agreement? We can keep striking for as long as we like if that is the case and he won’t budge surely? I thought it was a conspiracy theory that ST was just in there to run the company and the union into the ground, before it is bought up and split up, but maybe there is something to it.
Or, and this might surprise you, RM lose too much money, too many customers and ST loses the backing of the shareholders, before we lose our resolve, and ST is ‘forced’ to reach an agreement

I’m self-employed mainly but as that’s being hit by the cost of living crisis like everything else I joined Angard earlier in the year to hopefully makes end meet. I know it’s not a full time job but normal weeks is 2-5 shifts. Not one 4hr.
