Minus allowances so a genuine pay cut and compulsory redundancies . No point in accepting this "deal" if we're going to be made compulsory redundant early in the new year .

Pay is money.
Money is simply a means to pay for goods and services, it has no value outside of that unless you paper your walls with it.

If the cost of goods and services is increasing faster than your pay it isn't a pay rise. It isn't money that you did not have before because you don't have it, whoever you pay for your goods and services has it plus some more.

It's not rocket science and I'm sure you're not that thick that you don't understand this basic concept..
