I'm really undecided what to do I'm a non driver so thinking it's possible they might get rid of me at some point the deadline is Sunday if I apply to give myself more time to think about it do I have to take it if I was offered it.

AFAIK,it's optional,you are not commiting yourself to redundancy if you are offered it.

The choice is yours,I'm the same,I've applied on the app and cancelled it so many times.
But the deadline is the 27th,but If you change your mind then you go in the app and cancel your application.
But truth be told,I don't for 1 second believe anyone will get the 6k on top.

Ask your manager, i think he has helped a coupleof people in our office.
One ,aged 63, would get about 27 thousand including the 6 thousand.
Another aged 65 gets 30 weeks plus the 6 thousand.

As it stands voluntary with a 6k carrot on top.
Then talk of compulsory but not until March 23 according to amazing offer.
But this has obviously been knocked back.
Compulsory will most likely be the government minimum, which you can work out on gov.co.uk I think.

You only get Statutory redundancy if the employer does not have the means to pay normal contractual redundancy pay.

Things like the employer goes bankrupt

The offer via the app is for voluntary redundancy – max of 39 weeks pay + £6k(pro rata).
Statutory is the minimum they have to give you.
You don't get both!
If they make anyone compulsory redundant, it's likely to be the statutory amount, but theoretically I don't think there's anything stopping them offering more.

You're not committed at all by signing up via the app. All you're doing is showing an interest.

If they offer it to you, you'll have until 31st January to say yes or no. After that date, your decision is final.

That's assuming they don't pull the offer beforehand!
