Not this time. We all have our personal red lines where we won't ever vote for a deal if these lines are crossed. It will be extremely difficult to get 50% to support any deal this time whether the union recommends it or not.chickenwittle wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 20:52Once the union recommends a deal that’s it in reality always has been.Cedar_Room wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 20:49Union members will get to vote on this non-runner,don’t forgetFilthyBloke wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 20:44Hopefully the CWU accept it and call off these strikes.
It’s as good a deal as we are going to get.

Re: New RM offer
stated red lines - what are the real realistic red lines?Surreypostie wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 20:54The union will reject this before we even get a vote.
Some of the union red lines as recently as yesterday...
Parcelforce have to be included, there is no pay rise for PF
They have to get rid of all Agency workers before any redundancy.
NO compulsory redundancies
VR's only as per MTSF's terms.
There were others but these alone will result in rejection and the strikes going ahead,

Re: New RM offer
Thought RM’s ‘final offer’ deadline was yesterday? More bollocks, f**k them. Our DO is chaos at the moment and complaints from the public are at an all time high (there’s been some non-tracked parcels piled up like a bonfire for over two weeks). Simple Simon will have been informed by his ‘Team -‘ that the chaos will take RM down if these proposed strikes go ahead at the strategic times planned and the bad publicity generated will backfire massively for him. Keep fighting, tighten your belts and let’s smash this CEO out of existence.

Re: New RM offer
Red lines?
No abolition of start and finish times.
Ocassional Sundays on enhanced rate.
No major changes to sick pay or attendance procedure
CWU agreement on any revisions.
Pay rise backdated to April 22.
PDA actuals can not be used for conduct.
A decent deal for Parcelforce and fleet.
LEGAL AGREEMENT.
That's the minimum we can accept imho.

Hopefully the CWU will reveal all details tomorrow and can cancel the upcoming strikes if they feel a deal can be reached now

Re: New RM offer
abuse of sickness leave is a huge and costly problem. And as you pointed out can continue to be abused by those minded to do so.arsenalbob wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 21:01Just go sick once a year then…….for 52 weeksIloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 20:37I hope that annualised hours, "commit to deliver" and no sick pay for the first three days of absence after your first absence of the year are massive red lines for most of my comrades.
There are 2 ways to solve it in my opinion. The first is to have a work force who love the job and are bought in to the company ethos - well that good will has been further eroded by RM during this dispute. The second is to have zero sick pay or whatever the minimum is. But then there would be a massive recruitment issue and they'd have to make the wages far more attractive than they currently are.
Just as the hidden perils of extended lock-downs have only now revealed even worse perils in the form of far more deaths from non treatment of cancer and other life threatening illnesses, I can't help feeling that this dispute will have unintended and unforeseen consequences for RM that are worse than they envision now.

Re: New RM offer
Thats not a no strings pay deal ,and we all want to finish early not just people with kids, lets not split the working hours and workforce, one for all and all for one, reject it immediately,i look after an elderly parent and need to finish early too,so we all finish early or none of us do.

Personally, I won't vote for any pay cut that results in a worsening of my T's and C's. Saying that, I think we are on a hiding to nothing with this CEOFilthyBloke wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 21:06Hopefully the CWU will reveal all details tomorrow and can cancel the upcoming strikes if they feel a deal can be reached now

Re: New RM offer
Thompson was rather chirpy on Workplace this evening - could it be there’s been a mutual agreement reached?
Personally, I think one of the prices for any agreement should include Thompson’s resignation - the distrust has already been sown, so relations going forward are going to be strained at best even if a deal is reached.
But we shall see what tomorrow brings.
Expect we’ll be working on Thursday and Friday now.

Re: New RM offer
Just like the old offer and the one before that and the one before that. Totally unacceptable.
