Just seen on Daily Telegraph at 7.31pm that RM have made an improved pay offer and dropped the Sunday working. Hope it's true.
9% over 18 months instead of two years, well, it was 2% backdated until april, 3.5% once we agree everything and then 1.5% next april, next april is now only 5 months away so the headline is a bit of a con, it is 9% over 17 months now and 2% of that is a £500 lump sum not a 2% payrise so it's a no from me unless they scrap annualised hours and drop the sick pay changes.

The problem is, they can offer more pay, they can make sundays voluntary, they can offer family friendly hours, but when it's part of Royal Mail's agreement, it will include the CWU voting to agree to make themselves irrelevant going forward. So yeah, that a major sticking point, the CWU aren't going to agree to a deal, that gives them very little influence going forward.
The FTSE 250 company is understood to have offered a 9pc pay rise spread over 18 months, rather than two years, as previously tabled.

Royal Mail's “best and final” offer to union leaders has also been sweetened by rowing back on its demand to force staff to work on Sundays. Meanwhile, “family-friendly” working hours are to be offered so that posties can finish in time to pick their children up from school.

A vote of no confidence means exactly that Thompson.Unfortunately you've shown time and time again a lack of respect and integrity to a loyal and dedicated workforce who'll be there long after you're gone.Whether you have the full backing of the board or not you're not to be trusted and I for one will be withdrawing my labour for as long as it takes to get a legally binding agreement and hopefully a change of leadership with a fresh approach so I can get back to working hard, feeling valued with some form or morale eventually returned without fear of your next plan of attacks on us.

The personal abuse to Simon is against the rules which everyone joining agrees to. But more importantly, puts the entire RMC website at risk so I will delete the original post and all that quote or mention it.

I get more convinced each day that we have people who are not real posties posting on here to get us shut down, or it's people who don't fully understand the consequences of their childish actions.
