Is the any further news on this "rumour". The reason I ask is that a few at our place are using it as a reason to go back to work. They're saying " I've got to go in as I've put in for VR and a condition of applying is that you can't stay out on strike". The problem being now that line is circulating around more are latching onto it and putting in for VR as an excuse to go in.

I can't believe it's right but wondered if I've missed something. Would appreciate a proper answer not just a queue of posters saying it's BS when they don't know anymore than me.

There are lots of statements from RM on this forum, saying what they're offering and what they're not offering.

Have you read anything on here, MyRoyalMail or the people app from RM to say you won't get VR if you strike?

Unfair selection

You cannot be selected for the following reasons - your redundancy would be classed as an unfair dismissal:

sex
gender reassignment
marital status
sexual orientation
race
disability
religion or belief
age
your membership or non-membership of a trade union
health and safety activities
working pattern, for example part-time or fixed-term employees
maternity leave, birth or pregnancy
paternity leave, parental or dependants leave
you’re exercising your statutory rights
whistleblowing, for example making disclosures about your employer’s wrongdoing
taking part in lawful industrial action lasting 12 weeks or less
taking action on health and safety grounds
doing jury service

Since the law stops you from being selected for redundancy based on taking strike action I would imagine it would be pretty easy to argue that case in reverse.
