Don’t know what it’s like in other offices, we’ve been 100% solid since the strikes started but a third are going to work Thursday/Friday!!! Once that happens I can see the following week being at least 50-60% going in.

4 or 5 crossed each day at ours previously. I've heard plenty saying they will cross this week, but saying it and doing it are a different story.

I think a lot are looking for the green light to cross, but they know the stigma of it.

Once it happens in big numbers the union is as good as dead. People who cross picket lines, cross forever. That choice isn't reversable.

Why do people moan about the union if your happy with the way simon is treating his workforce and his performance through the pandemic and his distribution of profits, and the pay rise he has offered with a few tweaks with your terms and conditions make yourself available on strike days im sure he will sort you out a few vouchers to treat yourself.

Also in 32 years the unions always managed to negotiate some sort of deal , if this time they can't then again is it worth paying for ?

I asked our rep today if we could refuse to work with strikebreakers (polite terminology) and get them moved to another office - he said he didnt see why not something to be aware of maybe !

it also amazes me that a lot of people (mainly 20-30 yrs old) in our office have their heads up their arses and have not got a clue whats been proposed by both sides etc - it infuriates me- its their futures at stake ffs

Because if we strike in good numbers there’s a 50% chance we might win causing RM profits and business to take a hit we might be able to bring RM back to the table and renegotiate a settlement to the dispute.

But if we don’t strike then we will 100% lose and the job won’t be worth having for those that are lucky enough to still be employed by RM by this time next year and beyond.

Are you serious! As if RM are gonna move people out of the office who came into work during IA. And if you think the union or your rep have that power then you obviously haven't been aware of what's been going on over the last few months. This whole strike is about reducing the union's influence in the workplace not giving them more!

Your rep is an idiot. Royal Mail will simply suspend those refusing to work in a section for ignoring a managers reasonable instruction. Further charges of bullying and harassmant will follow no doubt as well
