Once upon a time there was a postman ( he,s on page 25 of this month ,s courier) well he used to run his job,so he could get home quicker , and he would jog to keep himself in shape, ( hope he doesn,t slip in his magnum shoes)
At the same time his employers published a health and safety special to cut accidents at work this was in the same edition of the courier.

Rather than curtailing this practice (remember this is a story )his employers introduced heart rate monitors as this would go nicely with the hand held trackers,all by 2011 of course so everybody would run as part of their job description.

Page 1, Why are they so negative about 16,656 accidents? Surely that's about 133,344 of us that haven't had an accident last year, So we can expect to go about eight years without an accident which isn't bad considering all the traffic, dogs, lifting, handling, slip hazards, trip hazards, etc.
Page 3, Trial of "microvans", Royal Mail finally admitting that mail volumes have grown such that it's no longer practical to use bicycles, even in urban areas like Worksop,
Page 5, "Later starts are welcomed" by who ? One one of the many colleagues I've spken to likes them.
Page 10, "DX is on the march ... the latest attack on Royal Mail's business" - they almost seem proud of any increased competition,
Page 13, "Flexibility in acton", more examples of us willingly doing whatever we're told no matter how much it inconveniences our lives - do they really expect us all to believe that nobody minds being treated like this ?

Now this caused a right ol BULL N COW down at UNIONS FATTY HQ In SW19.... The top brass pie eater was in a right tiff over the Militant bastards taking in to there own hands ANY ACTION without asking HIS FECKING PERMISSION FIRST... "HOW DARE THEY?"

The good UNION MEMBERS from grass routes got the ump of LIP SERVICE AND A MAG EVERY MONTH telling em aload of bollox about political crap that MOST never listened to,, But they felt ignored when it came to local and branch problems.... Then there was the fence sitters with more Lumber up there jacksies than a woodpecker in his beak...

You get all these members of the POVF (Post Office Volunteer Force) who come in early and drive round in their own cars, using their own time and money, who are cutting their own livelihoods and those of their colleagues and then RM come up with this !
I think the CWU should insist that only members who currently DO THE JOB PROPERLY get to use the microvans. If the POVF are too stupid to see the error of their ways, maybe seeing colleagues do deliveries in comfort at Royal Mail's expense will finally be the thing that makes them realise they are on a hiding to nothing
