Perhaps Simon has to report to the board that a deal has been done, or he will be shown the door.

People saying on here and on the CWUs Facebook that Thompson is panicking and in trouble need to slap themselves back to reality. One of two things is going to happen next week, the Cwu will fold and agree to the shambolic deal on offer or Thompson will smile and walk away from talks and implement everything they want anyway and there is absolutely nothing we or the Cwu can do about it. The union messed this up months ago and are now scrambling around trying to save face.
Also where is the union’s alternative plan to turn the business around that they promised a few weeks back?

The union's position from the start of this dispute should have been, ST crack on with whatever changes you want but make no mistake not one letter or parcel will be delivered by a cwu member during the month of December! The roll back would be on a scale never seen in industrial relations.

Totally agree mate, if the union had members like you we'd be sorted by now. If they hit hard we hit harder not pishing about with a handful of strike dates.
They wouldn't be so keen on pushing ahead if nobody was there to do anything lol

If kretinsky makes a bid for the company and hives off royal mail and keeps GLS , he'll have to pay the shareholders around £4 a share (60% primiem on current SP) under takeover rules. That will please the shareholders , even if they have a higher average price because GLS is a money making machine and we just cost them money to deliver letters. In reality , Royal mail was and is never going to work, trying to compete against other parcel delivery firms as we have to process transport and deliver letters too. It's never been a fair playing field.

Not sure where you get 400 a share from, it was floated at 330, and within 3 weeks went over 600.
