No idea, whenever we are in dispute people shout strike at christmas, we need to strike in december blah blah, well here we are and he hasn't budged an inch and is ploughing on, this man is a different beast. I only know what I hear people say to me, they are worried, they have bills to pay, I will strike one day a week until hell freezes over, I can afford it and quite like having an extra day off a week, but there are many people much younger that need the overtime to just survive, to lose that and then to be hit with all these days, many will fold and I don't blame them, in their situation I would fold. I'm looking to get out anyway so I have signed up for the VR, I won't get it but if offered it I am looking at about 27k. Yes please and off I go skipping into the sunset.

Apart from 23rd and 24th the rest will be nothing more than a slight inconvenience to Royal Mail. The day after will be busier than normal but with agency and overtime takers it will soon be clear again.

Because it's a working day for Royal Mail. I presume distribution will strike too? I'm surprised they haven't included a Sunday yet given how important RM seem to think it is.

Right. Why not another weekday though? Surely has much more effect. Sunday delivery is pointless to strike on, as the workload will be tiny and whatever is there will be easily covered by agency or strikebreakers.

Heard a rumour that striking individuals will not be considered for VR. Any truth in it? Anyone else heard anything? This was from a driver.

They don’t think it’s *that* important though, compared to other days. They will just do whatever it takes for employees to be delivering as many days and hours as humanly possible. Most people couldn’t give a s**t about getting parcels on a Sunday. Royal mail just want to try and increase profit in any way possible - they will tell us people really want parcels up until midnight next. Because they’ve asked people and done a survey on it

Pretty sure Thompson will be looking at those dates and thinking to himself “is that it?”
23rd and 24th might be a bit of a worry but flood the place with agency and advertise to the public to order everything well before the 23rd and he’s in the home straight. This dispute was lost weeks ago. The desperation in Wards voice pleading and almost crying for Simon to give him a deal was sad to watch. Not gunna be as sad as us working late into the evenings on inhumane monster delivery’s but it was sad all the same.
