Is this more to do with reducing the amount of Union Members within RM do you all think? It would certainly be an advantage to them. :hmmmm
Not really because I suppose some staff that want to leave will already be non union members .

Certainly hits the union in the pocket - probably near 6%less revenue through lost subs with reduced headcount
Been a huge increase in members in my Branch over the last few years with some offices doubling membership yet here we are begging others to pay for our strike fund

It's on and it works, but is based on how long you've been with the company. The £6000 is to get you to agree by the 27th of November.

Had it been a flat 9 months plus £6k I'd be gone, but they can get to F**k with 10 weeks wages 😂🤷‍♂️

So where did this 6k figure come from? I’ve been there 3.5 years and it’s saying I’m only entitled to 8 weeks pay. No mention of 6k

Are they doing it office by office or nationally. Is the preference exercise on everyone's app

My friend has just made a good point to me: he is intrigued how they’d select those for redundancy. Obviously first off you’d think they go for the older staff, but most will cost the most because they’ve been here the longer.

If the aim is to simply get rid of a chunk of people of people who are on current terms, surely it’s cheaper to make 5000 redundant who will get less than £10k each, than 5000 who will get £20k each but will likely retire soon anyway.

There’s also a bit about are you willing to relocate. Yes, offices might be told only say 5% can be selected, but if there’s flexibility with a neighbouring office wouldn’t be surprised to see a bigger percentage allowed from some offices.

Over to you, union.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

It's just a preference I think, I've done it and it says not binding.
