It means they start and stop. It's the opposite of continuous ie staying out til it's settled type action.

best way is to keep the pressure on the twats hopefully he will be sacked soon ! the contempt he has shown to us and our union is a disgrace he does not deserve a deal of any kind IMO

I think a lot will go in the next strike days, most have zero confidence in top union officials. Once December is done so are we. Management willing to lose the the battle of Xmas to win the war. Everything will be bought in by executive action for the future of the company, as they see it. If everyone is totally honest the next few strikes up to Xmas is throwing your money away.
