I hate to be that guy,but I’m starting to sense we are having the piss taken out of us here
I think a lot of members might be questioning what's going on behind the scenes at the union.
A senior member of the union comes on here and admits that such a devastating change to the way our job is done has been imposed and yet offers no explanation as to why not only has the union not addressed the issue it hasn't even mentioned it?
Who was behind the hatchet job on Terry would be another, judging be his post a couple of days ago although management took the story and ran with it, the attack originally came from within.
Where would you put all your bundles and packets without a frame, cant believe I'm even asking. If a walk has 12 loops , 3 to 4 bundles of mail per loop plus packets. Even on the easiest of days I'd have 24 bundles plus packets I've added my loops up wrong, should be 16
A year, a few years ago, I would have got all hot and bothered by this post and others, running around like a headless chicken - OMG, OMG, even after 35 years plus service, but now, I don't care, what will be, will be, just do my hours, go home, look forward to my day off, holidays, etc .. don't know if this is quietly quitting, but makes work a bit more bearable...
You have hit the nail on the head,quiet quitting,i feel exactly the same, over 32 years in the job and i feel a great weight lifted from my shoulders,trays of mail stacking up behind my frame dont care,packets failing dont care,door to doors dumped in the corner dont care,manager close to meltdown dont care,i go out on delivery, plod on at a reasonable pace and come back at my finish time,

IMO it's funny or coincidental how Terry was pushing for the no strings deal with quite a lot of passion and then as soon as he "fell ill" the no strings deal seemed to fade into the back ground and be tranformed into what we possibly have coming now.

The way Simon Thompson is running this company into the ground there will be a lot more of us who won't be caring .

How will this work? Anyone who's taken a delivery out after tying up using this method let us know, can't imagine it will end well.
It won't in my opinion, can you imagine how much longer it'll take to try slotting all the mail and smaller parcels in as opposed to simply putting in a designated slot in the correct order, the sequenced letters these days are quite a small proportion of the total mail.
I think this plan is not about saving time, it’s about saving space, and selling off assets, and ridding themselves of leases.

The question is why the union appears to be allowing this and other executive action across the country to go ahead relatively unchallenged.
Something of a power struggle appears to be taking place in the background, a changing of the guard, it looks like Terry may have been a casualty of that.
There's no doubt this has been a bruising dispute for the CWU and I doubt its relationship or how it interacts with the employer will ever be the same again, that will be difficult for some of the old school to accept.
