we had an office meeting today , the com reckons a deal will be announced on 15th Nov. Hes already started telling us about late starts late finishes and the best one yet , collections of parcels from the public will still be free BUT could be a max of 50 yes 50 parcels per house.That includes delivery of labels so how the fook do we get time to do this ? Is there a limit to the number of parcels I can have collected?

There’s no limit to the number of items you can have collected with Parcel Collect, but we recommend if you are sending more than 20 parcels a week, please speak with us about a Business account

What is the new Same Day collections feature?

Customers can hand over extra items to their postie which have not been booked for a collection. The extra items require a barcoded Royal Mail label to be applied. The posties will collect these items on a best endeavours basis.

How will the postie know to collect these items?

You must have an existing collection booked within Click & Drop

Once the postie collects your booked items, you can ask them to take your extra items.

What does ‘best endeavours’ mean?

Our posties will do their best to collect all your extra items, but this cannot be guaranteed as they may not have the capacity to do so

What happens to the items that aren’t collected?

Should the postie be unable to collect the extra items, you can either book a collection or attempt to hand them over again on another day for which you have a pre-existing collection booking.

I am told that the CEO was at new Midland parcel hub on Monday and PRDC Wednesday, also he is still banging the “ it’s our company to run” s**t at said hub in an address to managers. Personally I think he is prepared to tough it out and after Christmas impose his plans without agreement. I hope to god i’m wrong though.

The thing I don’t get… assuming he could just bring the changes he wants anyway, why hasn’t he just done that?

Fair point, I can only assume it’s because he wants to string it out the process and not p*** off the staff in the lead up to the busiest time of year by announcing the imposition of his plans before then! Then wallop, no leverage for us to hit back! As I said I hope I’m wrong but the way he behaves, I don’t trust him one inch.

the cynic in me says the talks will finish with a nearly completed deal
which RM will pressure cwu to put to a vote on acceptance or rejection to in fact stop the 24/25 strike days
as they did before only we didnt get the vote
we will be back negotiating and the same stunt will be used again

In my opinion he is simply playing for time stringing along the CWU.

That is how it looks to me. For us it is about pay and T&Cs. For them it is about selling GLS and the subsequent lining of a few individuals pockets. Leaving us and the taxpayer to foot the bill plus the bill for maintaing the USO.

The Personal Attacks on Simon Thompson through social media campaigns has also made it very personal from the CWU.

Both parties in this dispute are equally to blame when it degrades into a Willy Waving campaign who has the bigger Gonads rather than resolving the real issues.

Sorry, you are very wrong. The way taht Thompson has treated loyal staff at this company and mugged many off, he deserves everything he is getting from the union.

Parasite this guy is an infestation where there is good he makes it evil where there is hope he brings despair and where a profit existed he squandered it.
This is not a normal CEO this is classic failure and scorched earth destruction wanton greed and narcissism and a whiff of corruption ie Vesa capital wish I could make laws in this nation and see him pay for his crimes against the state!
