I think Dopey's got one, the other six dwarves are still on their trial periods, which looks as though they could be waiting a good while yet.

Are they really suitable for carring the eight pouches of up to 16kg we can be expected to deliver each day ?

Maybe, but only if you stuffed a Triumph Rocket III engine in there ( and whacked on a TTS supercharger kit to be sure )

Because they want left hand drive so you can get straight out onto the pavement (it says this in the article).

Why then haven't they had left hand drive vans for the last several decades ?

I think RM did a trial on left hand drive vans but they used (of all vans) Sherpas

The 3 cars in question came through a local delivery office garage of ours before going to Worksop. They were driven through the country by 3 drivers all the way from Germany (or wherever they came from). The livery was already on them when they arrived at Chesterfield DO. They had to have a MILEOMETER installed as the dashboard was delivered in KILOMETERS. The headlights had to be readjusted as they were facing the wrong way. The rear windows had to be tinted for security and also one of those net things have been installed I guess to stop packets dropping onto the drivers head. As for space they aint good. I think the photo in the Courier demonstrated this in that a full row of bundles and not much else. RM have them for 6 months otherwise the cars have to have UK plates fitted. They are on loan only for RM use for the trial period but they were at Chesterfield for a good 2 months before moving onto Worksop so they won't have them for much longer.
