Why are we balloting on a worse offer than we rejected in June,what has changed in those meetings,we gave the union the biggest ever mandate now get on with it and do your job.

We will also be conducting a workplace consultative ballot of our members to support the rejection of the RMG pay and change offer, which covers Fleet and Parcelforce for Change but is silent on pay for these members. Arrangements are in progress to ensure Branches receive the ballot papers for distribution to members starting from early next week. This consultative ballot will close on Wednesday 16th November, which is the eve of Royal Mail Group’s half yearly financial results being announced to the markets.

Its not a legal ballot so don't anyone vote,the union need to get on with getting us the best deal,we all know the latest one is worse than the 1st,Union officials know this they are just playing silly games with simon,get on with what your paid to do reinstate strikes and get negotiating and stop pandering to simon's games.

Bad idea. If we don’t show our opposition to the new offer, which as you say is s**t, then Royal Mail (Simon) will not offer any more. Plenty of people are wavering and actually think it’s an improvement.
It’s all about damage limitation now. We aren’t going to win this one, so we need to get as much as we can out of it.
The CWU as we know it are dead. This is a private company and they’ll do as they please. We have to stay strong to get the best deal we can as it’s all downhill from here.

The pay offer is conditional on us accepting the attack on terms and conditions.

You understand that the pay offer is a real terms massive pay cut. If we don't back the union now then future offers are likely to be 0% until the new starters catch up with our pay rates and there will be feck all that the union could do about it. They can't take industrial action again knowing that their membership will cave almost immediately.

i agree i will back the union all the way but royal mail are going to implement these changes asap and we can do f all about by the looks of it maybe all out strike is needed but is there the strength in the workforce for that

I'm not happy with the pay offer and it's not back dated. If you accept this offer now then in the near future they'll say not enough volunteers so sundays compulsory, also have to move your hours to last letter at 6...7...8pm. We've got no money so uniforms are out, vans are gone everyone in own cars and on and on...I'm not taking a rock bottom offer from ST and RM now. They've got the money. They can start by offering a better deal especially T&C for their staff.

From what we were told by our manager today I agree, unless RM are bluffing they intend bringing in all the proposed changes from January, if RM call our bluff and now let the next strikes go ahead on Black Friday and so lose £m's of income I can't really see how we'll win this dispute unless the shareholders revolt and replace ST.
