Jesus guys get some backbone would you, never seen such negativity about this place ever. I seldom post because usually somebody posts something vaguely sensible, but this defeatist claptrap is unworthy of this site. Simple simon has you all running scared and all he did was get the same deal and make it look different, stop whinging stand back and have a good look at what the future holds for you if you agree to what he wants. Then stop the CWU criticism and back your union and have some faith. Simon is only trying to wear you all down with his tactics, taking vague details of a agreement to say its no longer relevant, wanting very specific details for the AI which are very difficult to answer to scare the union into withdrawing it, going on workplace and baiting every idiot who will take heed with his posts and just generally fighting a very dirty fight. Its the first dispute in my 60yrs i have seen fought on social media and to be truthful i find it quite unsettling the way the CEO has behaved with his tactics, i guess the youngsters think this is ok but its not for me. This Despot is intent on destroying Royal Mail and your jobs along with it and be under no illusions that it will only get worse. As for me i will hang about and do my job which i have enjoyed for the last 15yrs until it is no longer workable or if i stand firm and back my union i might have a job that is workable with a good work life balance and i can retire in 5 years.
Hooray Hooray!!!!!! Some on here are so defeatist whilst others are more concerned that Pete came in 10 minutes early. On every thread someone manages to get a dig in on their colleagues, this is the usual one and some see that as the biggest problem in the workplace, people really need to focus on who the enemy is and pull themselves together. So what experience do our union top bods have in formulating their plan? Especially given the fact that they don't appear to believe the financial figures given by Royal Mail.

I would love to see the wowed reaction of the assembled shareholders to the union's alternative vision. It might be nice if they shared some of it with the members first.

You are correct.
Some years ago the Civil Service did the same thing. There was an area supplement of around £600 a year, which was non-pensionable. After one pay award the supplement was used instead of a pay rise, so a £200 a year rise meant the supplement dropped by £200 a year. The plus point was that the £200 became pensionable, but the bigger minus point was that the take home pay remained the same.

A perfect storm unfortunately.
I can't get behind a union who keep cancelling strikes,we have a 4 week window now instead of the 12 we had at the beginning and we have got nowhere,i reckon Royal Mail will flood delivery offices with agency and students in December,as Simon steams on the train has left the station with us left behind,if you can come up with one positive let me know,they have messed it up ,you know it ,i know it,all my mates in delivery know it,the best we can hope for now is decent redundancy terms but they will probably mess that up too.
