Sums it all up really, you say strikes are making no difference, while others are raging about strikes being cancelled for a few weeks to target the busiest period , union can’t win.

Simon Thompson does not care about the strikes and this trade dispute. Black Friday Cyber Monday rhetoric is irrelevant.

He will use the loss in revenue as justification the economic viability fo the company is collapsing. That is on top of the Million a day he states the business is losing.

There needs to be another stratergy such as a balloted overtime ban that hits Royal Mail everyday as an operational perspective.

There probably some law or loophole where we need to vote on the offer again because of time or who knows at least it gives us time to save some cash and hit them again as long as the share price sinks the pressures on in the meantime job hunting for when it goes tits up..

I completely agree with the both of you. I have been a union member and rep (not CWU) for a number of years and I have never seen such a weak exec as this shower. Im also glad to be retiring soon to be out of this sh*t! That said I really do feel for colleagues left to pick up the pieces from this shower!!

So we were supposed to have 15 days of functional strikes between tomorrow and 2nd December and 1 all out strike. Now we just have 3 all out strikes. This is a complete climb down, it’s like passing back to your own keeper when you have an open goal.

This climb down is at our most effective time of year to put pressure on, I’m afraid to say that the top levels of the union are incompetent and they need to go.

Just take that in, 16 days of strike action reduced to 3 days. Simon will be smashing one out tonight!

It looks very weak for the union to cancel the strikes. We dont need a ballot, this offer is worse than the first one which has already been rejected. Why would we sacrifice all that lost pay for a worse offer ? But if we do have a ballot, lets do it quickly, and if we accept, then we can obviously cancel the strikes. Now thompson only has to offer another insulting offer, before the new strikes , do we then cancel those strikes too, just to show we are being consistent?
