If you are not on strike on those days 12th & 14th Nov' then you aren't going to be losing any pay? Do extra O/T/work your day off !!, as apparently managers are screaming for O/T cover!! (make it work for you & build some extra pay for the crucial days that really matter (i.e black Friday etc) This will have a more strategic impact

I’m not paid 140k a year to come up with solutions. Dave Ward is and he’s failing us miserably. Ask anyone from BT and they will say the same. He’s a crap union leader.

You can’t run a ballot on the pay offer while striking, it would be a conflict of interest and something Royal Mail could use to accuse the CWU of bullying members.

So does that mean Simon can send us another garbage pay offer on the 15th of December to cancel out any Christmas strikes?

The cancellation of the 12/14 strikes is due to the union needing to protect themselves and prove publicly they still have us members on board. Especially as now Thompsons publicly chucked out another pay offer. They can’t just ignore it and can’t be seen to be sending us to strike when there’s an offer available, Despite it (hopefully!)likely being overwhelmingly rejected .
They’re coming In for a lot of the flack for throwing around random dates and there’s a strong opinion, especially in the press that they’re shooting themselves and us in the foot by destroying the rep of Royal Mail, losing them money and causing job losses. All fabricated by Thompson of course.
That’s what this vote is about, to prove this workforce has no confidence in its CEO, the claims are unfounded and the CWU is still representing its members wishes.

I just hope it doesn’t backfire.

There will be a court injunction issued to halt black friday cyber monday strikes.
Just like there was on the xmas 2019 (maybe 2020) strike we had planned.
It’s big business for the UK economy and a court injunction WILL be granted.
