Another graduate from uni that thinks she knows everything and is telling us the workers that physically do the job day in day out what will happen if we continue to strike.

Angela and the rest of them at the top that don't contribute towards the company should be rid of. Angela thinks we've already lost 350 million because of strikes No Angela your missing the point where we had covid kits more parcels because people were stuck at home isolating so last financial earnings were great because of that. Any business that makes a profit is better than nowt. Look at Shell for example making a profit every year apart from 2020 then to recoup there losses they put fuel up.

All we ask for is a decent payrise without more strings than an orchestra.

Get your point where royal mail is concerned but Shell has very very little say on the price of fuel. That is down to the market price of oil and a very very large proportion of the pump price goes straight to the government. The market price of oil is down largely to supply and demand which is why in worldwide lockdown time when demand crashed there was over supply and hence oil price futures went negative for a while. That is partly to blame for the increase in oil prices now, a time lag from a lack of investment in new wells during covid when big oil had to make big cutbacks on capex. That and Mr Putin of course.

Probably the pay deal with the managers. We had the obligatory swipe at the CWU but this was really directed at them.

Something along the lines of You may have gotten a pay raise but we're still in charge. And we're going to drag you all to London - carpooling all the way - to hear it.

Angela I'll give you a quick example of how you are losing money. An opg in our office was on his own on a park and loop duty because surprise surprise, there was no one to do the other side. He offered to do the other side of it on overtime. The gaffer refuses and guess what? He puts 2 angency guys on it who cost the business double the hourly rate of the opg! So instead of it costing the business 4 hours it has cost 12! Is that good management of the firms money? Also paying agencies to stand around doing nothing for hours then going out in a van with less than half a york of pkts? Madness!

A business doesn't make money by saving money it has to go out there and generate sales to make money. So the company should stop blaming OPGs for its shortcomings as they can only deliver the service that has been sold and if not enough sales have been made to achieve this end then the company should start looking at the sales division of the operation to apportion blame to.
