Shame it would have been interesting to see how the Rolling strikes would have worked and impacted the various sections. Wonder what the technicalities were? Are they saying they don't know how many work in Processing, Network, Collections and Delivery? Obviously whatever legal technicalities they were, they couldn't easily be overcome. Totally deflated at the news but not totally surprised because as already mentioned been here before.
Instant reaction is to go full in on the union for the obvious cock up they have performed & damage to the dispute.
But we must remember who the true enemy is & why the battle is being fought & what's at stake.
Let's not all fall apart at seams over this setback but stay strong & fight on with more resolve.
But will say CWU you have lions ready for the fight dont throw this dispute away with anymore amateur actions perceived or real

It was clear in some offices but caused little disruption in others but ever increasing strikes would cause massive disruption.

So the two additional days were announced because they got the letter and they knew they’d f****d up. Nothing to do with the talks and anything else “becoming apparent” during the talk.

Yes , we’d noticed, and we have to deal with that 6 days a week. Sunday is one day we should all be relaxing , taking time for ourselves and forgetting about it until tomorrow.
Not being interrupted with things that could easily have waited.

I would assume CWU wanted to give people notice straight away as the next strike is this Friday.

If theyd have come out tomorrow morning and said “we knew yesterday but didn’t want to disrupt your Sunday “ people would have appreciated that and maybe been a bit more accepting.
They didn’t.
They interrupted peoples Sunday , which would have already had people in the wrong mindset, then proceeded to tell them they’d f****d up. That’s only going to go one way. People being even angrier than they might have been in a week day.
I can’t for the life of me think why anyone would think that was a good idea.
There’s way too much here for me that doesn’t make any sense at all.

This is why we need to test action before the whole fight begins we could have tested the action before now if RM did not raise the concern or interdict they would by default have no issue with it. I like how we tested the ballot in August and subsequent actions but not the rolling strikes were not tested till now. But we can all learn from this the take a way is the ballot is live we can act in the interests of our terms conditions and pay and whole group strikes are legal and we can do maximum damage if needed. If we have to escalate to de escalate we can and will do this this time the problem is not the Union but the legislation and the government and the management lets focus minds and WIN!
