special lost help
Currently I am on a two year suspended but today I lost a special delivery, one minute it was in my bag and the next it is not. I spent 2hours retracing my steps, even had the manager help me look for it, to no avail. How Buggered am I and what is the likelhood of losing my job?

left a small bundle of mail in my panniers on the bike and the bike got stolen. Manage to recover bike and mail within 15mins. In my defence for that I actaully left the bike in the garden of my first bag drop and seeing has it had a camera on it I thought it was safe, was the first and only time I forgot to lock my bike up, it was a very bad error of judgement on my part and I owned up to that

There's the rub leiwolf - I believe that the terms of a warning stipulates that there should not be a recurrence of the nature of the warning or of a similar situation and I would say this is a similar situation. There can only be a certain limit to warnings otherwise it would be a case of ad infinitum, so I would expect the worst and hope for the best and good luck.leiwolf wrote:The two years was for when I left a bundle of mail on my bike, the recorded fell out of a hole in my bag

Panniers are not supposed to be for mail they cannot be secured so if you D.O.M. lets staff use panniers he is just as fault as the postman that uses them. They are for you wet weather gear. When delivering up long paths you are supposed to carry your pouch with you how can you do that with a pannier? Get your local rep on to this mate. Your not the first to have had a special STOLEN FROM YOU and you wont be the last.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
