Could be more redundancies!

Does anybody think that if strikes were called off then a deal could be struck ?? Personally I don’t. Once Xmas is out the way then it would be back to normal and we would be screwed. Listening to his Twitter post he’s not once said anything about making a deal just blaming cwu for all the problems .

If the strikes was called off he would completely bulldoze through us at least this way eventually they would need to start talking. I mean he's trying to bulldoze through us now with revisions etc BUT he still needs a workforce to do it.

He has already stated he will need a much smaller workforce, are you prepared to sacrifice your job for the good of the rest of us?

Strikes or not he plans to get rid of jobs. It's the sh!te terms and conditions of what's left. What's the point in having a union if you don't back it, you may as well say just crack on lol

Jobs will go regardless, hopefully mine and I am not waiting for redundancy, I am looking to go, if the USO is cut even to 5 days a week that is 20,000 jobs even before all this s**t kicked off.

The redundancy warning won’t scare everyone but it does mean that we will be forever short staffed.

He looks and sounds ill. Don’t agree there’s not much we can do about it, we are already doing something about it and unless he gets the staff onboard (and the dreaded CWU) any simple change will be doomed to fail.

I’m not sure what the consensus is at other offices regarding redundancy’s but I haven’t spoken to one person at our office who really gives a s**t if they are made redundant anymore.

Same all over I'd say we have been made to not care anymore.our office is full of anger and depression even the radio never gets turned on anymore.its just fights arguments swearing growling everyday.

Delivery offices are that short staffed we can all see that even without strikes this November and December the backlog of parcels and mail will just build and build and there will inevitably become a tipping point. There is only so much space after all and this is before the planned redundancies so imagine what next Christmas will be like. Way to run a business

He knows his bonus schemes and dividends are faltering and the need for agency to cover ground are all costing the company more as long as he fails to come to any sort of normal agreement. Had he not been so stubborn from the start then things may have gone better for him but sadly it has got the point where has chucked all toys out the pram and starting to cave in . Shamefully it’s dragging Royal Mail and the decent staff further down with him . Really sad state of affairs . This country is in meltdown . Greedy scumbags at the top of the chain are systematically destroying every business one way or another .

22 Postperson jobs on RM site, one in Lerwick 0930 - 1700, what time does it get dark in Shetland in the Winter (or should that be

ST could announce 100,000 redundancies and nobody would really worry, as we all know most DO's are already understaffed and even if redundancy were made it's probably best to get out now if all the proposed changes are brought in.

If this was ST's last move to frighten us back to work it hasn't worked.
