CWU:THE POST OFFICE IS POLITICAL

Post by POSTMAN »

CWU today (Tuesday) warns that postal services in Britain are under threat from underinvestment and poor management decisions as Post Office Ltd’s consultation and government action are exposed as inadequate.

In today’s evidence session at the Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Select Committee on the Post Office Closure Program, Billy Hayes, CWU general secretary, said: “Post Office closures is a big political issue. It reduces the footprint of the network and threatens the universal service. The Post Office provides services which are worthy of investment and the current subsidy is a pittance compared to what other institutions receive.

“We don’t think the consultation process is adequate. It appears that even after consulting, POL will close the same number of offices as they initially earmarked. This in addition to withholding information and the inability of the public to question the principle of franchising leads us to doubt how genuine the consultation is.â€

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

POL -WH SMITHS

Post by norbert »

Another trip to the Tribunal for RM Group again ?

There were threats made by POL Ltd over those tempting severence packages if staff didn't go quietly , Sub Postmasters had to sing from the POL Hymm Sheet or their severence packages could be affected . It was amazing that POL changed it's stance after being shopped to the papers .So it's be good boys and work for not much more than NMW ?

Even when Ridley broke the back of COHSE , contracting all those Hospital jobs out , staff still got TUPED , the likes of Carillion & Service Team were not the greates t of employers , some not recognising Unions .

Gordon Brown promised last summer that his first New Years Honours List would reward Britain's "unsung heroes " such as Nationwide Director , Richard Handover after years at the helm of WH Smith to 2005 until he joined the Royal Mail Board soon before turning over scores of Post Offices to er, WH SMITH !.

Quite a rogues gallery of inept fat cats on that list . I'm surprised our beloved Al & Ad wern't invited to Buck House! :lfo :cfo
