Not too sure about that theory, I'm pretty sure that there's 1000's of postie's currently all doing PDA related things roughly at the same time like scanning parcels.mickeymacca wrote: ↑15 Oct 2022, 14:53Its completely different...... Because/If you are going to have to sign in and sign out of a PDA that is unreliably slow at logging on at the best of times, and when a whole workforce (across the country) is attempting the same thing at around the same time, which I'd imagine may have an additional effect on the reliability, then that is significantly different than signing a sheet of paper where the only technical issues may be running out of ink....mjd24 wrote: ↑14 Oct 2022, 06:01How is it any different to everyone signing a sheet as they enter? Im in a huge office, 150+, and 90% of the time dont have to wait more than 5 seconds to sign the sheet.mickeymacca wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 19:11Sorry for being thick.....but that means everyone will sign in on that one/or so PDA, that's not a quick process, especially if the log-in gremlins are failing to allow PDA log-in.
So that means all will have to return to the office after delivery? or can your partner swipe you out.....![]()

no I'm not either, but there would be 10s of 1000s logging on at the same time, not 1000s scanning a parcel. This may be a problem just related to my office but I regularly have issues logging on to my PDA, like 2-3 times a week. It may well be signal issue where we are located.

The PDA will already be logged on and waiting when you enter, you then just scan your ID badge with it.mickeymacca wrote: ↑15 Oct 2022, 14:53Its completely different...... Re: Sign in sign out icon appeared on PDA homescreen
I think youre confused about how this will work. We wont all have to individually log on to a PDA when we arrive at work. We will just use an already logged on PDA to scan our ID badge.mickeymacca wrote: ↑15 Oct 2022, 19:17no I'm not either, but there would be 10s of 1000s logging on at the same time, not 1000s scanning a parcel. The logged PDA that you'll use will be running the SISO app. You just press onscreen whether it's "Attendance Start" or "Attendance Finish", then the screen will come up where you scan your ID card. In MCs instead of scanning our ID cards we put them up to the RFID tag reader.

No idea but there's usually 4 of us that don't mind getting in 5 mins or so early to have a bit of a laugh before starting work at starting time.k979aaa wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 17:08What is the tolerance level by the way 1 min or 5 min because I am dam sure will not be on their s**t hole property any longer without being paid.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑16 Oct 2022, 11:57The logged PDA that you'll use will be running the SISO app. You just press onscreen whether it's "Attendance Start" or "Attendance Finish", then the screen will come up where you scan your ID card. Having said that the office is already about half full of tossers who started early to work.

The qualification is that it's where your break can't be broken down into two or more smaller breaks but as with most RM/CWUHTPostman wrote: ↑17 Oct 2022, 15:04Do you have a link to this rule?Ciderboy1957 wrote: ↑15 Oct 2022, 18:16You are not permitted to take your break at the " end " od your duty
rules, individual offices have 'local agreements or understandings' and there's always the debate between the meaning of 'should not' as opposed
to 'must not' in this context:
Way Forward Agreement 2000
Breaks at the beginning or end of attendance
Where an attendance is provided with more than one break, the second break may be scheduled at the beginning or end, in which case attendance is not required solely for booking on or off. A single break should not be scheduled at the beginning or end of the attendance.
