Was a smart move for the union not to reveal any dates throughout December. Best to play that card at the last possible moment and leave them scrabbling to find cover, which will cause mayhem for the services.
Because they know all the date's for October & November it's easier for the bosses to plan. Would be good if the union reps told us a couple days prior to every strike to really f them up but probably not possible.

I have thought all along this dispute is bigger than us. Don’t get Me wrong. It’s as important to Me as it is You. What I mean to say is it seems to be about a CEO who is out to show all the others everywhere that a union can be trampled all over along with its members.Or so He thought.

Thought there might of been some legal rule on that. The union shouldn't have revealed the November dates yet then but at least they saved the December one's.derricksmyth wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 19:40Have to give 14 days notice!Ppat98 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 19:32Was a smart move for the union not to reveal any dates throughout December. Doubt Simon's goal is showing others about ruining a union. More likely it's about maximizing profits. The union is a obstacle to that.scoobydo79 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 19:49I have thought all along this dispute is bigger than us. Don’t get Me wrong. It’s as important to Me as it is You. The whingers on here banging on about how they don’t want a one day strike - will be the same ones whinging when we’ve lost the dispute and can’t book OT, and Royal Mail are bending them over every day.
You couldn’t make it up.
You couldn’t make it up.

Well we are not the only ones on strike nor the only ones with an Imposed pay rise of 2% nor are we the only ones who's terms and conditions are threatened by people who have gained far more than the cost of living crisis. They have become the cost of living crisis by their very actions we don't need your words of sympathy we need action while they sat on there arses during the election for the next leader, They were formulating a plan for tax cuts at the expense of every worker in the nation and we and the markets found that out after the mini budget so mini it was the markets crashed the pound fell most pension funds were going bust.scoobydo79 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 19:49I have thought all along this dispute is bigger than us. In our office we who strike are not allowed to do overtime to make up for wages lost. It's perhaps why half the office cross the picket line. The barristers got a 15% pay rise for going all out indefinitely, we should do the same for December.Ppat98 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 19:17I used to think December 2nd was a make or break day aswell but if we are willing to strike until then we might aswell strike until the end of the year. Makes no sense to give up when they need us most.
If you're struggling just work your restday & it will equal out the same as a normal week. New year is when we should be asking if it's worth it cause if they wasn't budging through Christmas, it looks unlikely they will change course.

Way I see it you will not be conversing with a lot of people but with such shallow fellow workers don't blame you, What you say could happen but we have not even started the rolling actions yet and they are far more damaging.moonjaguar wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 20:14In our office we who strike are not allowed to do overtime to make up for wages lost. You must be joking, the rich are always chasing more. Richard Branson and his like are almost on their deathbed but still keep pushing their wealth up.scoobydo79 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 20:23Surely there is more to it? Once you subjugate the working class they will move on the middle class it is a war on peoples rights not to be a slave if you give up then you already have become so!Ppat98 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 20:31You must be joking, the rich are always chasing more.
