The thing I still find baffling is that everyone keeps referring to the likes of amazon and dpd as competition. How can bags of mail stuffed with d2ds whilst trying to deliver parcels and the utter s**t other companies dump on us be referred to as a competiter. D2ds in our office are largely from the likes of tnt. If competition was to be taken seriously then surely they should be delivering their own crap and us ours. This would at least put us on the straight and narrow towards an even playing field. If we are losing 1 million a day then why does the current monopoly laws still allow this to go on. I'm pretty ignorant to the detail of this but from where I stand I can't make any sense of this.

I will bet the major players in all the delivery companies have vested interests in each other’s business
Prob have shares in all the companies as well

Exactly. As long as we have a legal requirement to deliver, we have NO competitors.

Then I really wish they would stop referring to them as such. We all did just parcels for a few Saturdays when Mr back was the current expletive in charge. It was a different ball game. Not in a bad way either

He may have absented himself from the talks as he's deemed as the problem. As was said yesterday, the talks had moved on a small amount. The chairman can always remove a CEO, it'll be up to the main shareholders and where they see the problem lies.

So far it seems the Chairman is as bad as the CEO..Both of them are showing utter contempt for the workforce .Time to announce strike dates for Dec running right up until Christmas .

Do you watch the news? There's no secret stash of money to bail out a privatised company that nobody gives a monkey's about.
Doubt many receiving customers will notice their 'Stuff you never realised you can't do without' catalogues aren't arriving today,
whereas people who can't get to work/appointments easily because of bus/train strikes will notice those strikes and will get
the headlines.

The 'optics' wouldn't be good for Truss and her cronies to be loading the country up with more debt to bail us out.

Hmm I'm not sure this Government and this Prime Minister are people I would be relying on for Re Nationalisation as her political heroine is Maggie Thatcher and is currently trying to bring in laws to make it illegal to strike in certain industries
