CWU could agree to all the changes RM want but if RM is expecting the current managers to introduce, implement, monitor and even understand them they have no chance. It will be total chaos. Most of these changes require upgraded IT, change to all schedules and deliveries, new work patterns for 115000 people and most importantly cooperation from the workforce. I totally agree! We shall soon be working close to the usual pre new agreement. I don't see most of the new ways working straight away and the use of technology and dynamic management will do some our manager in...

Glad to see some of you start to realise the union wont win this one and you are losing money for nothing by striking.

Everybody knows that in order to reach an agreement then some compromise is needed from both sides. If the union negotiators go too far in agreeing RM's demands then the members will simply vote down any deal and the strikes will continue.

If members had all been sniveling cowards who weren't prepared to fight and strike then Simon would not only have introduced his current proposed changes but would have quickly come back with more.

When this dispute is over I hope that the cowardly strike breakers will have the good grace to pick the shittiest duties going and donate any pay rise over 2% to charity given that they have done sweet FA to fight for anything better. In reality I suspect that the cowards will simply freeload off the sacrifices that others made. They are the lowest of the low.

Unfortunatley the union got it wrong by not talking about pay and changes, thats where they lost me, anybody could see no talks would start until they lost that one.

Sadly you are right! How can RM give us a no string pay rise then brave themselves for strikes on terms and conditions. They will be foolish to let us have a good pay rise and then still have to fight us over something else.

I don't think so... Since when do we get to vote on deals? I think the CWU recommends a Yes vote and Reps votes. I might be wrong but we shall not get a vote that might change the CWU stand or agreement with RM...

What happens if we vote NO? I doubt CWU will give us an option to carry on striking when they have accepted RM terms

With the benefit of hindsight anyone could see Royal Mail got it wrong by imposing a 2% pay rise. It was an absolute insult and meant that posties still overwhelmingly voted YES in the next ballot.

I find it highly unlikely Thompson and Royal Mail have suddenly changed their ways and are now willing to talk sensibly. Dave Ward seemed a bit optimistic in that video yet he never mentioned that Royal Mail had changed their mind on serving notice on the agenda for growth agreement? If they still intend to break that agreement then anything they are saying in these talks are just words and nothing more.

Not really for 2yearpostie. He was right and the Union has now acknowledged that pay and terms has to be part of one negotiation or in order words, it has to be pay and terms as specified by Royal Mail.
