I seriously worry that this strike will collapse. We are supposed to be striking for two things, one being a no strings pay rise, what is what we voted for, that is what they have a 90 odd percent mandate to go for. Now Martin Walsh says on here, it isn't going to happen, now we are talking about 2 year deals and more stings than pinochio. If it goes on much longer, I will cross the line, quit the union and bollocks to all of it.

Legally binding, my arse, it was a no strike clause, no disrepect but 17 glorified postman making the decisions.

What I want to know is, if we are no longer fighting for a no strings pay rise, what will the PEC think is a suitable offer to put before us? I personally have no idea what we want anymore.

Whatever it is we now want we'll be no nearer to it after Monday's meeting . I'm not in the slightest bit hopeful there will be any progress .

Don't be surprised if strike is called off just my opinion.

Even if the CWU gave a talks update during every fag break it wouldn't be good enough for some of you.

When they are ready to communicate, they will, and all the silly posts on here constantly asking for an update won't change that one bit.

Even when there is an update, everything they've done will be criticised

I don't mind Sunday working as long as it isn't regular and as long as you get the Saturday off if they put you down for a Sunday.

My mate phoned me tonight saying surely it can't be legal to change a democratic vote by members. Union represents what members want and vote for, and we voted massively in favour of a 'no strings pay award' not linked to change....that was a separate vote. I have no clue. So I said I would ask on here.

If they have started going against the ballot then I agree. However we have changed lots of things over the years without a vote, we put money in to the momentum campaign away from the traditional Labour Party and that was never put to the membership. I don’t like the enough is enough thing either (I obviously agree with the sentiment) it dosent sit right with me that it is promoted by the cwu media man and seems to piggyback off our industrial action, this pseudo political venture was never mentioned to the members before it’s launch.

We voted for a no strings payrise. It’s what we deserve sadly I think that we are about to change forever for the worst.

Martin Walsh said on here a few days ago there isn't going to be a pay increase without change, he also mentioned the possibility of a 2 year deal, we didn't vote for either of those things. That to me says we have lost.
