Simon Says
Team - during the meeting on Monday with the CWU - I was very clear - and here is the sentence from my letter that I sent following the meeting -> "These allegations are disgraceful and completely baseless."
But it appears, this was not enough - so we have just released this statement to the market today ->
"We are aware that in recent media interviews, Dave Ward, the General Secretary of the CWU has indicated that we are in "secret talks" with a private equity investment group, he believes, regarding a takeover of Royal Mail. The Company wishes to make clear that this is not true. We are involved in no such talks"

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

What is with these lies from Simon Thompson.
If he's trying to claim the talks have fallen through, without saying they have fallen through, then maybe we can now get a deal done and move on from this mess, but the lot of them will have to go.... Simon, Ricky....the lot, they lost the dressing room and have messed us around.
it's probably not that....it's probably pure lies based on what this Simon guy's been up to.

The fact that this national security act was only introduced this year is the only faint bit of hope we have. They could use it to stop the takeover and champion it by saying it was only possible because of brexit. They are miles behind in the polls so letting RM be taken over and assett striped will not go down well with the british public.

They've most likely been postponed now anyway until the Government makes a decision on whether RM can be sold to Vesa.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 16:06If he is now saying they ARENT in talks then it means they WERE in talks
If Vesa are given the green light by the Government a deal could be wrapped up before Christmas.

It would be under the scrutiny of parliament and would wish the fresh recollections of Mr S T and his ilk like lap dog ricky and others do they really want to get on the record about this?TopperGas wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 16:50They've most likely been postponed now anyway until the Government makes a decision on whether RM can be sold to Vesa.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 16:06If he is now saying they ARENT in talks then it means they WERE in talks

Was Simon on Workspaceplace saying the decision may be delayed until December?
It is inconceivable that Rees-Mogg would turn VESA down (unless Daniel is proved to be related to Putin). He will need to show that the UK is open to foreign investment but maybe it is still too difficult to flog off the Royal bit with Liz only recently deceased.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I'm sure there are internal conflictions going on in the tiny little brain of The Mogg.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑10 Oct 2022, 15:53Was Simon on Workspaceplace saying the decision may be delayed until December?

I think he likes the idea of a UK company owning GLS, it's sucking money out of the EU into the land of hype and gory. That may be our saviour rather than Elizabeth the late.
