NOTHING changes the FACT letters are still a thing they take longer to sort longer to prep and longer to deliver.There not going to suddenly disappear like Mr Thompson would like.so unless something happens(which it might) to change that FACT then carry on were NOT a parcel company.we have no competitors..

It's odd how various offices see differences in mail, ourDO now manually sorts way more letters than we get sequenced and the DROP in letters definitely isn't noticeable, I'm ignoring strike consequences. Foreign specials still come via the specials locker and not tracked. Incidentally the first 3 loops of my current delivery is roughly the same size as afull delivery I did 30yrs ago and packets aside I would not have been able to get it in my bag, yes believe it or not one bag was a whole delivery, occasionally 2 but the manager wouldn't be keen on you having another bag been brought out to you

Quite extraordinary. One bag!! I couldnt get my first loop in one bag last Wednesday, mainly due to it being two days of mail but still. It is incredible the difference in the job now vs 20+ years ago, though i know it was a 6 day a week back then.

The biggest difference for both MCs and DOs is the massive increase in packets over the last 20 years. When I started we dispatched the small packets to the DOs in bags and you'd probably would have gotten 2 maybe 3 yorks worth per office each night. These days you can probably fill a 600 purely with small Tracked and small packets these days.

We now sort large normal and large Tracked together, I think it's only a matter of time before we end up doing the same for small normal and small Tracked

On Monday why can't Royal Mail just agree to grant their employees the national average pay rise for the private sector 5.7%... put the pay rise strikes to bed then we can pause any industrial action while they thrash out the changes to terms and conditions?

Thompson won't do that . He wants to break up the company and destroy he union . Basically he is only concerned about attacking you .

You will be striking for a while then as there is no chance of a 12% rise in line with inflation.
