it seems strange that this subject has seemingly vanished into thin air. they were due to start working to rule on 19th July. it gets called off, a day before. (presumably, cos they've struck a compromise)....now 12 weeks later, not a word has been mentioned about it, managers are crossing our picket lines, going into work, doing whatever,..... basically doing what senior management are asking them to do. have they been offered a deal we dont know about.?? its hard to believe they are still negotiating a deal 12 weeks on from a potential strike of their own without anything whatsoever being agreed. all our dom/com/arsehole says is ''they've heard absolutely nothing'' yet they are still going about their every day work and helping to piss the workforce off even more and not a toot has been mentioned. does anyone else not find this hard to believe.?

Yes I heard they’ve had a secret pay deal and been told to keep it all hush otherwise it will kick off ten percent I believe

The only reason I can think of is as follows - if we were all given up to £1500, would we still be on the picket lines, not doing OT (well, some of us) and generally be annoyed at Simon and co? Or would we shrug our shoulders, look at our half decent bank balances and think ‘hopefully it’s sorted soon.’

In short, I think the £1500 sweetener plus the fact I believe COMs are on more than they were on when they were merely on line manager pay means they’ve effectively been bought/paid off.

surely not. i am sure our union would've heard something from Unite. they both do have a common cause.

They obviously made a deal as the strikes were called off....

Royal Mail had to make a deal otherwise mail centres/depots would not have been able to open without management on site. Posties would have had those days off too.

The thing is, managers jobs looks like they are on the line as well as us posties. They should really be on our side and striking against changes.

I think it’s simply the £1000-1500 plus the extra a lot get anyway as COMs (I’m sure I read they are on £40k now? Compared to low £30ks before).

Sure I read that the strikes were called off because they were deemed illegal (as a bunch of them took the VR before the ballot, and the redundancies were mentioned on the ballot, so the ballot was void)

We've occasionally had shifts where ALL the managers were acting managers
