Re: Sunday Working Question
There are a limited number of staff who can have Saturday off so it's likely that this idea would impact on the availability of Saturday as a day off for remaining staff.
So what you're kind of asking is would you screw over your colleagues for 1 in 2 Saturdays off?

Re: Sunday Working Question
I've yet to see a shift pattern that doesn't screw some people over. The office beside me for instance some staff never get a Saturday off.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 18:31There are a limited number of staff who can have Saturday off so it's likely that this idea would impact on the availability of Saturday as a day off for remaining staff.

As long as 51% of staff, who happen to be mostly full time, vote for a shift pattern then it gets brought in. Just my personal experience in the offices I've worked in.

Re: Sunday Working Question
Its bad enough we only get one in 6 Saturdays to spend with family, to make us work a Sunday as well is a complete farce.
Should still be voluntary or written into new contracts for any newcomers.

Of course it is , they would be taking the job knowing this , if they didn’t want to do it , don’t apply for the job.groundhog_day wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 19:02So it's ok for your new workmates to work sundays as long as you don't have to?scotboyblue wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 19:00Should still be voluntary or written into new contracts for any newcomers.

We are talking about working Sunday, I wouldn’t be applying for a job that asked me to do that in the first place .heraldmoth wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 19:56So screw the new comers? who get sh!te t&cs anywayscotboyblue wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 19:00Its bad enough we only get one in 6 Saturdays to spend with family, to make us work a Sunday as well is a complete farce.

Re: Sunday Working Question
There's a lot of different shift patterns across deliveries, seems the more militant offices are they get a better shift rotation, its time our union started fighting for all,if anything comes out of this i'd like to see fairer shift patterns for all,for the many not the few.
