There are a limited number of staff who can have Saturday off so it's likely that this idea would impact on the availability of Saturday as a day off for remaining staff.

So what you're kind of asking is would you screw over your colleagues for 1 in 2 Saturdays off?

I've yet to see a shift pattern that doesn't screw some people over. The office beside me for instance some staff never get a Saturday off.
As long as 51% of staff, who happen to be mostly full time, vote for a shift pattern then it gets brought in. Just my personal experience in the offices I've worked in.

Its bad enough we only get one in 6 Saturdays to spend with family, to make us work a Sunday as well is a complete farce.
Should still be voluntary or written into new contracts for any newcomers.

So it's ok for your new workmates to work sundays as long as you don't have to?

Of course it is , they would be taking the job knowing this , if they didn’t want to do it , don’t apply for the job.

We are talking about working Sunday, I wouldn’t be applying for a job that asked me to do that in the first place .

Your completely twisting it of course considering the thread is about sunday working not t&cs.

There's a lot of different shift patterns across deliveries, seems the more militant offices are they get a better shift rotation, its time our union started fighting for all,if anything comes out of this i'd like to see fairer shift patterns for all,for the many not the few.
