How odd!! You're telling me off for moaning about other's opinions and then proceed to do the exact thing to me.
You are mistaken. I called you out for using lazy "ad hominem", which is just bad form in any discussion, unless it's amusing which yours was not.

Edit: with regards to your edit, again reverting to pathetic personal attacks, on some fictitious idea of a person that only exists in your own mind. What is the point of that?
Oh well that’s my thoughts and if you don’t like them - whistle!

The sick policy is not paying SSP only after the first sickness. In fact, it is the reverse of the usual SSP. You get SSP for first 3 days and thereafter, you are back to normal.
Show me where in Royal Mail's proposal it says that?
You must have plucked it from somewhere.

RM sent us all letters but most people throw them away. However, the information is actually on this site - thanks to Postman.
I shall link it but it is a bit late now... Also was on RmTV.
The sick policy when changed will still be one of the best out there

The CWU haven't f****d up this time.

They learnt lessons from the last time.

We are still taking industrial action, defending our jobs ,our dignity at work.

The CWU Called it right this time.

Keep fighting.

Absolute fact is the CWU have let 115000 people badly down by not crossing the T's and dotting the i's, the incompetence of this is unforgiveable.

Eight days strikes and sweet FA to show for it apart from lost wages. RM will win this due to the CWU not knowing wtf they are doing.

All confidence lost in the CWU now!!

You actually only had one thought. That "the CWU can’t do right for doing wrong in some eyes". Could have just said that, which is true, because they're backed into an extremely difficult situation to get out of.

Read the Q&A part for clarity...
I think you actually made comments on some of the proposed changes - as a regular contributor.

The CWU should not be economical with the truth! But I am almost convinced they are behaving like most Posties - not reading what is presented to them. They did acknowledge recently that they are now ready to negotiate on pay and terms, band are going through the changes proposed. Many months later mind!

Commit to deliver is already happening... They want you to take what you can deliver and avoid bringing back.

Like I said, there will be far less savings of time if we work as we are supposed to. They can use the tools and IT but we can also use it to our advantage.

* What will reduce is the ability to finish early and go or go early today and try to claim overtime when slightly over the next day. A fair day's wage for a fair day's work.
** Not saying it will all be plain sailing but it can only worry those with cushty rounds or those that do deals with managers or ghost overtimers...

Nope, now you are the one twisting the truth

We have a start time and a finish time and right now there is nothing stopping anyone working those hours no matter what they tell the manager they think they will manage

The rule just now for most offices is get the tracked and specials done and if you haven’t got time to finish the mail bring it back

Commit to deliver with annualised hours is an entirely different proposition because there would be no set finish time - hence having to finish delivering everything you’ve been instructed to with the manager deciding if it took you a reasonable enough time to give you the hours back
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I really don't see the point in coming on here and bashing the union over potential legal mistakes.
Maybe they should have forseen this before announcing the rolling strikes. Maybe they did make mistakes and their legal advice could be more water tight but people should really look at the bigger picture here.

Look at out current terms and conditions that the union have fought hard for. We would already be in a gig economy environment now with no sick pay or holiday pay without the CWU. Our terms and conditions are better than most non-skilled jobs because of the CWU.
Yes, we are at a point now where these are being threatened and our pay is insufficient to the cost of living but why bite the hand that feeds you.
Ultimately they have our best interests at heart so I don't think it is helpful to constantly critise.

You have to bear in mind the current political attitude towards trade unions in this country as well. Some of the anti trade union rhetoric is thatheresque at the minute. We have some of most draconian trade union laws in Europe and even further afield and they want to make then worse. Most be high pressure at the top of these unions. I think they do the best they can in the circumstances. It's easier to criticise and moan, but ultimately where would we be without them....

So, are we now not on strike on Friday this week? It's all very confusing?
Did anyone see the bit in the Telegraph where simple Si says all posties will lose £2k if all strikes go ahead! He can't even do maths, mind you it goes on to say that the average, I stress, AVERAGE , postie with overtime and allowances, earns £30k a yr! Really!!! He really is out of touch and clueless.
My pay was 30k last year I don’t do any o/t a lot in my place do 30 hrs ot so I’m guessing they must be 40 k ish

Working Sundays especially for the same pay rate is a sticky one but I would have thought the CWU could use their clout to maintain the enhanced rate. Perhaps they could even go further to get an enhanced rate for overtime and SA. The current deal on overtime is pants given that overtime is going to be severely reduced going forwards.

We do not have competition for delivering letters at the same time as delivering parcels; that is obvious regardless of what Simon or RM says. Moreover, they really don't care much about letters these days, so letters can come back or be left while the time taken to do allocated parcel (work) will continue to be negotiated - we are not robots and too many variables and they know it.

Simon needs to be put right with facts and figures not ridicule and heads in the sand

So I guess you're lucky enough to get more money for doing the same job just because you happen to live in London, that doesn't make you the average for the country as a whole though.
