It isn’t opinion, it is fact. Immigrants pay into the economy, via spending on goods and taxation. Immigrants who are being held in hotels are a drop in the ocean compared to how much this country is contributing to native unemployed and the elderly. If you gave those in hotels the opportunity to work here, they would.

Good luck getting a decent payrise if you want to swamp the Labour Market with immigrants.
Are you familiar with the mechanisms of supply and demand?
Immigrants have propped up this country for decades. That is why the NHS is now on its knees after we have made this country so unwelcoming for overseas workers.
Could you possibly tell me how we can drive Workers wages up when mass immigration suppresses wage growth?
Maybe vote in a government that doesn’t approach the economy with austerity as their only idea. Tax the rich? Close tax avoidance loopholes? I have more.

Taxing the rich won't work, they'd just leave the UK. Better to have some tax revenue from them rather than none

The unfunded Public Sector Pension liabilities stood at £1.2 trillion in 2021.
I doubt your tax plans are going to cover that expense.
If you believe that the Political Parties who got us into this mess can get us out of the mess they created then you are deluded.

You are so uneducated it is painful. Immigrants to this country are less of a drain on the economy than the people born and raised here. They put in more than they take out, funding the welfare state, unlike the natives.
Which "immigrants", those who've been here for 60+ years and have fully integrated into society, or the thousands who've stepped onto Kent beaches in the last couple of years, or hidden in lorries etc over the last decade or so?
There's a big distinction, and if you really believe that the latter put in more than they take out then why aren't all the countries of Europe clamouring to take their share of these beneficial workers?

Those bloody illegals coming over here and taking all our jobs working for peanuts whilst never working a day in their lives and claiming our benefits grrrrrr

Taking all our council houses that they don’t need whilst living 11 to a room grrrrrr

Travelling over ocean in a dinghy over here because of how good they have it - those lucky sods working for peanuts, 11 to a room whilst actually not working a day in their lives on benefits grrrr

Wait a minute
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

How many illegals should we take in?
Is it sustainable in the long term?
I know that people are desperate to appear virtuous but unlimited immigration puts a strain on our Countries finances and resources.

None, i fact we should be sending loads back. we've got enough homeless in this country without adding to that number. The NHS and many other services are overloaded already

Yes we have had a homeless problem for decades, and yet we had the solution all along, we could have just put them up in Hotels like we are doing with the illegals.

We don't take in any "illegals". As soon as someone claims asylum they have a legal right to be here while their claim is processed.

And the vast majority of asylum claims are found to be genuine.

And we take far, far fewer refugees per capita than comparable countries. We are not taking our fair share.

Don't let your brain be boiled by con artist racists like Farage.

You betray your agenda with your vocabulary.
Mass immigration. Illegals. Swamped.
You don't like immigrants. Fine. Just say so.
I will tell you something for free Silly Milly - we don't like you.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Milly is correct though you cant house and treat people when there's not enough money for the population as it is...how else are you going to say illegals, swamped etc it is what it is.
