Just my opinion but don't think there will be a future without support for this agreement. def cannot see any more strikes being called so what is the way forward in the event of no deal.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 11:19I think it does take balls yesaiden01 wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 09:51Don,t understand how it takes balls its either a yes or a no.seems like a helluva lot of cwu members are voting no does that take balls also seeing leadership are recommending it.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑11 May 2023, 22:14It still takes balls for the branch to go against the leadership's recommendations no matter how you think the vote will goaiden01 wrote: ↑11 May 2023, 21:44What if the members of the glasgow branch come back with a yes vote will mean nothing.like ive already said members make their own minds up.if you have to rely on your branch telling you how to vote god help us all.im sure the branches rejecting the agreement now probably recommended most of the pec.
I would be easier for some of them to just ''play the game'' and go along with it
It’s easier to accept defeat and just take what’s on offer and move on with a crap deal than it is to vote no and take a gamble that we deserve and can do better than that
We don’t know what the future looks like without this agreement but we certainly know how the future looks like with it…..

Re: Glasgow reject deal
I think the mood music will change with news of Thompson's imminent departure, and postal workers will vote with their pockets and common sense to accept the deal.
The stark alternative does not bear thinking about.

Re: Glasgow reject deal
And your alternative is to lead postal workers by the nose like the Pied Piper over the cliff to joblessness, poverty, and destitution.?
Thank God the majority of postal workers are not as hare brained as you.

Re: Glasgow reject deal
No the alternative is to do what any true trade unionist should do and reject any deal that incorporates a two tier workforce. It goes against everything I believe in.
Am actually disgusted that union officials would even consider such an agreement.

I don't rely on my branch telling me how to vote.aiden01 wrote: ↑11 May 2023, 21:44What if the members of the glasgow branch come back with a yes vote will mean nothing.like ive already said members make their own minds up.if you have to rely on your branch telling you how to vote god help us all.im sure the branches rejecting the agreement now probably recommended most of the pec.
What, in the name of God, gives you that ludicrous idea?

Well in the past we have relied on our union to recommend how to vote , trust. However this seems to have gone for many, myself includedDirtyHarry wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 20:30I don't rely on my branch telling me how to vote.aiden01 wrote: ↑11 May 2023, 21:44What if the members of the glasgow branch come back with a yes vote will mean nothing.like ive already said members make their own minds up.if you have to rely on your branch telling you how to vote god help us all.im sure the branches rejecting the agreement now probably recommended most of the pec.

I can't remember the last time I voted for a deal negotiated by the CWU.
In fact, I don't think I ever have.

Re: Glasgow reject deal
Why don't you take your propaganda and shove it where the sun doesn't shine . You are constantly questioning/challenging anyone who actually has the courage to say NO to the injustice happening. Just go back to your cushy , dry ,easy factory work . You are not a postie. you are an annoying doom monger stirring animosity because the vast majority on here have the opposite view to yourself . It annoys you immensely , which is quite satisfying.aiden01 wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 22:41So why say well done glasgow.well done what only because they are saying no would you say the same well done to branches who have voted yes.no i doubt it ile say it again some great no people on here would love to see what box they actually tick when nobody else can see.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 20:30I don't rely on my branch telling me how to vote.aiden01 wrote: ↑11 May 2023, 21:44What if the members of the glasgow branch come back with a yes vote will mean nothing.like ive already said members make their own minds up.if you have to rely on your branch telling you how to vote god help us all.im sure the branches rejecting the agreement now probably recommended most of the pec.

I will strike if that's my only option, for myself and for you . I'd rather not, no one wants to do that.
But I will .
