If an agreement isn't reached by November 14th, I estimate this to be the point of no return. Royal Mail will not be able to win back the majority of its customers as retailers will be looking to other courier companies. RM will have missed out almost entirely on the biggest consumer spending period of the financial year.
Our new Czech overlord will lose a fortune in dividends and inherit a company riddled with debt. Simon Thompson kamikaze business plan is designed simply no more then to make a name for himself in the business world as the guy who broke the union. Right now the executive board and major shareholders need to be coming together to give Simon his P45 and a swift boot out the door. The guy is paid a £million a year and all he does is rant at trolls on social media!!

It would be all Simon Thompson's fault . We didn't pick this fight he did . If Thompson genuinely cared about growth, change and modernisation he wouldn't have torn up national agreements which are vital for change and modernisation . It's all gone way passed that because it's become clear he's only interested in breaking up the company and destroying the union . Therefore in my opinion Thompson has to go whether voluntary or be sacked . He's managed to get the entire workforce against him . Any enforced changes without the staff onside will end in disaster .

But we do need to separate the emotion from the facts....it's clear no agreements have been "torn up", they have been served notice on based on the get out clauses that were part of the agreement. The bigger issue here is that the clauses were part of the agreement to start with. The irony is RM have actually followed the agreement to the letter (in terms of getting out of it). If that were not the case the CWU legal team would have had them in court. They've been outmanoeuvred.

"Served notice bassed on the get out clause". Well that amounts to pretty much the same thing . Backing out of national agreements that were vital for change and modernisation . Like I said before , it's all about breaking up the company and destroying the union . Personally speaking I'm prepared to defend my union and colleagues for as long as it takes .

We fight, or we resign our selves to Simons vision for royal mail. A vision that ultimately doesn't include us working for royal mail, (well not under our current terms and conditions anyway) because we are paid far too well according to royal mail.
