Leaving the strikes to one side - Royal Mail have been significantly understaffing us for over a year. Royal Mail 100% prioritise tracked parcels over anything else. We have always been told 'If you are going to struggle to complete - make sure you clear the tracked and bring back mail'. It is never said to us to 'clear any large tracked so we have more room at the office'.... it's always 'all tracked'.


When will Ofcom and the government open its eyes to what Royal Mail is doing!!! Many businesses and major services are struggling because of Royal Mail's contempt for the service it's supposed to provide.

Now, make sure the tracked 24 go, don’t scan in anything you’re not going to take.

Letters have been treated as 4th class for a long time in the offices I’ve worked in. It’s no wonder they are declining.

I never imagined that Royal Mail would have the audacity to carry on with the wilful delay of mail once they didn't have covid as a legitimate excuse for shoddy service. Ofcom might have been caught off guard as I genuinely have been.

Pretty sure they are declining as virtually everything has moved online, if we stopped delivering all the "junk" mail we could probably deliver the mail customers actually want, NHS, HMRC, DVLC and bank letters etc just once or twice a week.

It was scanned into the office but none of it went out. Whether they had agency staff in today clearing it I do not know.

Saturday is not a USO day for parcels. They can get a Sunday crew in and clear all the parcels and not report a failure. Lies, damned lies and statistics....

There has been a deliberate standard policy of wilful delay of mail country wide by RM for years...from the top down this has been the mantra dressed up as operational needs,covid etc etc

They cannot use covid as their cover up excuse any more.
We see in MC's and D.O's the corruption and lies every day - this comes from the RM board right down COM/DOM
Ofcom are not naive they KNOW EXACTLY what has been happening and are fully involved in these lies

Yes and no. A good chunk of what we send out to DOs as parcels are technically large letters

IMO the CWU should put a full page ad in the newspapers detailing Royal Mail's failures to provide the service they're obliged to. Expose their lies and tell the public the truth!!!
