Re: RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
If he thought we should be delivering in the dark should the subtitles not read 'its not so extreme to say you CAN deliver in the dark'?
or 'its too extreme to say you cant deliver in the dark'
or 'its too extreme to say you cant deliver in the dark'
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Some people are defeated just because they have no energy for the fight wonder if your relatives thought that way in 1940 would we converse in german now just because you have given hope the vast majority have not!SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑21 Jul 2022, 10:56I'm just being realistic about it. It's going to happen at some point and there's nothing that any of us will be able to do about it2yearpostie wrote: ↑21 Jul 2022, 10:53Then why are you cheerleading for it and willing it to happen?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑21 Jul 2022, 08:56EVERYONES shifts would move back in RDCs, MCs and DOs2yearpostie wrote: ↑21 Jul 2022, 06:50You do realise that the mail centre shifts will move back as well as you wont have anything to process...SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Jul 2022, 21:22My gut feeling is that the later starts will happen anyway due to the savings RM would make with shift allowances

Thinking about it this will surely one of the changes conceded by RM, as working in the dark from a safety angle seems unworkable, physical attacks, slipping on ice, dog attacks etc, apart from delivering parcels in a van. I can't think of one job apart from the police who walk the streets, & lanes, at night.
True. But you don't usually see one copper wandering around the streets at night. They always walk round in pairs and have plenty of backup should they require it.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
This was the most egregious letter I've had through my door since TV licencing. If someone orders something online they don't need me to be working til 6pm the next day to deliver it. Zero summer lapsing but more apparently more annual leave during that period, working 10-6 in the winter... Thompson does not live in the real world.

But if we don't work those hours we'll become the next Woolies/Kodak, although I'm sure neither co. failed due to staffing issues!!kazardaimenu wrote: ↑30 Jul 2022, 18:15This was the most egregious letter I've had through my door since TV licencing. I dont get the working between 32-44 hours bit. Most of the staff are 25 hours now so will they have to work longer summer and winter through increased contracts?

Re: RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
What are the 32 allowances, referred to in the yellow letter please ?
And why do half the team get them and half the team do not ?
I have 6x SA's early in the morning, is this included ?
Thanks for your help.

Re: RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
Also, it seems to me to be quite a giant leap to go from working 1 in 40 Sunday's now, to working 1 in 4 Sunday's in the future ?
Or is it just me ?

Grandad rights, the allowances that exsisted pre 2014 did not apply to starters after that date.BenacreNick wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 10:44What are the 32 allowances, referred to in the yellow letter please ?

I assume every OPG gets the Delivery Allowance, If that''s the case, given surely we're the bulk of RM employees then it does make you wonder if only 45% of the team get paid allowances?2yearpostie wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 11:30Grandad rights, the allowances that exsisted pre 2014 did not apply to starters after that date.BenacreNick wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 10:44What are the 32 allowances, referred to in the yellow letter please ?

DO staff get a Delivery Supplement, MC staff (Processing) get a Processing Supplement, I'd assume that Distribution staff get their own equivalentTopperGas wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 19:50I assume every OPG gets the Delivery Allowance, If that''s the case, given surely we're the bulk of RM employees then it does make you wonder if only 45% of the team get paid allowances?2yearpostie wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 11:30Grandad rights, the allowances that exsisted pre 2014 did not apply to starters after that date.BenacreNick wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 10:44What are the 32 allowances, referred to in the yellow letter please ?

The delivery supplement is NOT part of any group of allowances they want to get rid of
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
I work in a mail centre and we've been informed that they're trying to take away our shift allowance for working lates/nights/weekends. This would make a big difference to our wage packets.

if that were to happen I wonder how many staff on night shifts will look to move to early and late shiftswowiezowie wrote: ↑01 Aug 2022, 01:27I work in a mail centre and we've been informed that they're trying to take away our shift allowance for working lates/nights/weekends.
