Hello All,
I am shipping a small package of approx. 200g or so to Texas from the UK.
I posted it on Saturday afternoon (missing the Saturday collection as I left it too late) and it was collected on Monday evening.
My package was received at Heathrow Distribution Centre in Langley on February 2, 2021 at 4:46 am.
Since then it has shown the "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" message for 4 days without updates.
Royal Mail phone support say it has left the UK.
USPS phone support say that it has not yet left the UK.
Who am I to believe? When can I expect an update? Who am I to contact for advice and updates?
I sent an envelope on the day before sending this latest item (to the same address) and it was received within 7 calendar days.
I sent a larger package during the Christmas rush and it was also received within 7 calendar days.
This delay is apparently not due to the pandemic nor is it due to any peak in activity. There is no immediately obvious rational basis for such a delay and I am getting quite annoyed at not being able to track it as per the service for which I paid.
Can anybody please help me?

When you get the situation you described its been passed into Customs, who may have decided your item, or your batch of mail needs extra checks before the UK Customs Release it - Or the US Border officials also release it. When it's between or in one of the Customs there is no tracking available.

That doesn't quite gell with what we as posties are experiencing. There are delays caused by Covid absences in most offices and centres in fact if you check the other threads in this section the delays are continuing and not unusual.This delay is apparently not due to the pandemic nor is it due to any peak in activity.

Something similar happened to me i sent a parecl to india from the UK on 3rd febuary 2021 and it was recieved at langely Hwdc on 4th febuary 2021 since then it keeps showing that it's still waiting to be dispatched overseas it's been a week today that my parcel is stuck at lanegly
I sent another parcel to the same country few days after that and it has already in the destination country so im just curious if you parcel has recieved to where it was going
