The next scan that should have received is at a mail centre, it looks like it hasn't left the PO but that would be very unusual. In this case it is better to try and contact Royal Mail try their intolerable call handling system, or try twitter @royalmailhelp. They'll need you to DM the tracking number..

Re:lost special delivery parcel
Hi everyone. I am new here. I had a very important parcel which has lots of sentimental value to me and worth a lot sent to me on the 26th of March. Now since then everytime i go online to track it it says still at leeds ready to leave to go to medway. I have rang RM and they now have told me the item is lost and not prepared to do anything else but put in a claim. I'm shocked with the attitude of staff as i don't want to claim i want my parcel delivered to me. Now i have spoken to my local postman and he has informed me that special delivery parcels are treated completely different and go into a special room locked. So how has this item gone missing. It is in a large box too. I am going to take this further with press if i don't get it back. the cost of claim if i'm lucky will not cover the item as it is special to family and myself. This is not right or acceptable at all.

What would you recommend next as no one is interested in helping figure out where it is

Re: Special Delivery Lost/Vanished
Every day, labels drop off parcels because they weren't stuck on properly, outer wrappers get mangled in machinery etc. This means that is not possible for RM to deliver the item to the recipient as, while they have the contents of the parcel, they do not have a way of positively matching the contents with the recipient or sender. The contents of these parcels, and what remains of the wrapping, goes to the National Returns Centre in Belfast. In order to reunite these item with their rightful owners, RM need as full a description as possible of both contents and packaging from the sender. This is why the lost parcel claim procedure exists.

Re: Re:lost special delivery parcel
Making a claim means that all the details you provide go onto a database and this actually increases the chances of the item being returned to you, especially in cases like the one described above about labels falling off.

Re: Special Delivery Lost/Vanished
Hi.
I'm in the same situation. Parcel posted SD on 11/04/24, still not arrived. Delivered to Swindon MC and dispatched to Medway MC. That's the last updated and that was on the 12th and in transit.
Sentimental items that I cannot afford to lose. Medway MC seems to feature in a few of the chats on here, is it a black spot?
Is there still hope. RM say make a claim, which I have but its not about the money.
Any help most welcome
Thanks

Re: Special Delivery Lost/Vanished
Yes there is hope. Now that you have filed a claim the NRC which admins all the undeliverable parcels may be able to match it up to a parcel where the addresses are damaged, obscured or missing. The more information you give the better the chance.
