Hello,
A parcel sent last Wednesday (containing Xmas gifts, such as jumpers, glass vases, shower gel etc) was sent to a relative in Northern Ireland via special delivery from England. We send parcels via Royal Mail on special delivery all the time, including these items (as mentioned previously). The parcel did not contain any of the items on the prohibited list but the parcel did have “fragile” displayed, with instruction to Royal Mail that the gift contained a breakable item. Breakable items are not listed in the restrictions list either. Can someone help me understand why the parcel has been held for searching? Plus, is there any guarantee that the parcel will get to the intended recipient intact? Any help will be appreciated

Occasionally items are checked if they think there is an issue. There may not be, but they will need to check anyway to make sure.
Just checked https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... -customers and Gel is on the list of restricted items so this is probably the cause of the delay. If its okay they will find out and send on.
Also just because it made it before doesn't mean it won't be checked on this particular posting.
