Mail interception - scammer - South Midlands Mail Centre

Post by ZacB »

Hello,

I have just been told by a buyer that he intends to send me an empty box back and keep the item i have sent him. It hasnt been delivered yet but was sent special delivery so will arrive tomorrow before 1pm. Its currently on its way to South Midlands Mail Centre

Im wondering if theres any way to stop the item while its in the postage system and return it to sender? This is a high value item and times are hard enough at the moment without me having to cover the cost of this scam.

Im wondering if anyone can hep me please?

Thank you.

No, it is against the law for RM to stop an item and return to sender.

If the buyer he does what he says then that will be fraud. I would speak to Action Fraud for advice.

If you have used eBay, I would try to contact them about this. Someone attempted to scam me on there about 5 years ago, I called them and explained the problem and they were very good. It helps if the communication was via eBay's own messaging system. It was pretty difficult to find eBay's phone number, though.

As its a definite scam if the empty box makes it back to you then call the Police and get the scums collar felt.
