Is it possible to post a Royal Mail Signed For parcel in a postbox and still get the delivery confirmation?

Yes, but you won't have proof of posting so couldn't claim if it got lost. Signed For isn't tracked while going through the system, so normally the only scans would be on posting and then on delivery.
