Going crazy with RM48 delivery.

Post by edikaz »

Hi

I know there are staff shortages but I cannot even collect this parcel from the delivery office (no card) and the office is only open before 0900 (I cannot leave the house at that time).

Last Monday:
My RM48 parcel arrived delivery office, no postman came but the item was marked on the website "Sorry, we tried to deliver your parcel on 06-07-2020 but there didn't seem to be anyone in." however I was in and no postman did come (and therefore no card was left). Postman didn't seem to come entire week. (on the site it said book a redelivery but that crashes out with try again later error, tried half a dozen times).

Monday (today, 7 days later),
Postman has come today and delivered mail but no parcel (now 7 days in the delivery office). Still has same message on web site. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

What can I do?
It never came in the first place despite that message on the web tracking (and no card obviously). I phoned Customer service who told me the message on the website could mean anything and it is used for many reasons.
Has been 7 days now in the office.
I hate having to wait in every day for this.

Other note:
Last RM48 parcel arrived delivery office within 2 days... delivery office delivered 12 days later.... on the last day before I could claim as lost. - I won't be able to do that with this one as they have stated (incorrectly) delivery attempted.

Try this, even without a card, if the delivery office has a parcel in your name/address, they will redeliver on the day you choose: https://www.royalmail.com/personal/rece ... ivery/book" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks

However I managed to get customer service (on the phone) to book a "redelivery" (even though the first delivery was never attempted) for Wednesday.. however I have done this before and nothing ever arrives.

Last RM48 parcel as I stated arrived at the depot after being sent in 2 days but took 12 days to get from the depot to me, we saw a postman not once in those twelve days so redelivery simply didn't happen.

To be honest I have no faith that it will even arrive this Wednesday (10 days after it arrived in the delivery office).

Is there anything I can do about this?

Best option is to try and get down to the local office when open and ask to speak to a manager, bring all the information you have related to the parcel due including the tracking number, ask them to track it internally and hopefully it will reveal why it has been delayed and the exact address that it is supposed to be going to based on our system for example, sometimes things are mis-addressed then stuck in limbo.

Let us know how you get on.

You could try the national customer services... but I'm not a huge fan of them myself.
