The current procedure for items needing a signature is that the postie confirms the recipient is happy to receive the item. They should then input the surname and sign "XP1" on the pda. Idx is XP1 upside down, so the pda wasn't rotated before signature.

That indicates to me that it has probably been delivered to the wrong address. The GPS delivery location is held for a short period, so I'd suggest you put in a complaint and the manager at the Delivery Office should be able to see where it was delivered to.

Thank you fb1969 for your input and advice I really do appreciate it because this is stressing me out. Its strange though Ive had stuff delivered to my local post office a couple of times now and its always been delivered there no problem. I have already contact royalmailhelp via twitter and they gave me their email and asked me to send required information which I did so they can investigate it.
Do you think they will be in contact with my local delivery office to enquire about GPS Location and whereabouts of my parcel?
I just thought maybe the driver scanned it as delivered to make it look like he had reached his targets and would be dropping off maybe this tuesday(monday not possible because of bank holiday).

There are no actual "targets" other than being expected to deliver everything you take out! The tracking on your packet shows it as being ready for delivery in the office in the morning. In our office that would mean me having to sign for receiving it to take on delivery - meaning it is something to take 'extra care' of. That is not to say it is the case here, just where I work.

I don't know about you having items delivered to the PO, or if that was the case with this item - I am only used to items that I deliver to the address on it. Strictly speaking any enquiry should come from the sender but as it is from Poland RM should investigate from you asking. You would need to get them to do that by opening a complaint (which it seems you have), maybe ask them to look into the GPS side of things - I don't think they would give you the GPS information, but it would give the office an indication of a problem and may help the postie concerned to remember where it went.

ok thanks mate. The info you have gave me makes me think more now that the postie didnt steal it(why would he risk his job knowing that it has tracking and gps traced) and either posted it to wrong address(I just find that unlikely though because its a row of shops) or has still to deliver it. I will try again on tuesday with my fingers crossed and maybe even say a little prayer the night before lol.
Do you think i should hold off filing a complaint untill then or best to act now. I dont want to get anyone in trouble if its just a silly little mistake been made.

Misdelivered could be something as simple as the correct door number but the wrong road. Done it myself, the stress level at times can mean you just concentrate on the number and either misread or don't even notice the road name!

I doubt anything would be done between now and Tuesday anyway, so holding off until then won't effect anything if you wait until then. I think the GPS data is held for a week or two, so again there is no downside if you wait a bit.

I get that but its labelled with poste restante on it below my name which indicates thats its for a post office. Another thing I might try is ask the shop owner if he left it with them because its a post office thats in the same building as my local convience store.

Check if anyone there has the name shown on the tracking for the signature, assuming it isn't your name.

Doesn't help then  We are supposed to ask the name of the recipient, but it is quicker to just put in the name on the packet - especially in the current situation.

Yeah thats what im assuming which i understand posties doing for quickness especially when staff is so low right now. So I am kinda still hoping he either forgot to hand over my parcel or didnt have time to drop it off and hopefully deliver it on Tuesday but thats just me wishful thinking. Anyway I just went ahead and emailed royalmail with my issue so now twitter RM and RM direct know about it. Also Im currently off work like alot of people are just now, so I know for a fact that postie makes his rounds to that post office between 9.50am to 10.20am so im just going to hang around there till I see him and politely ask him what happened to my package and show him on my phone the tracking.

hhhmm just found this post on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/royalmail/comm ... uaranteed/
very simular situation to mine but theres updated to sender preparing item next day. Is this maybe proof that for quicknes parcels are being scanned and signed at DO's for quickness?

Possible yes.

Probable No. All it takes is one complaint, and a look back at their previous scans and their job is at risk. The risk to gain ratio just doesn't add up.

Still nothing at the post office but the nice lady there is going to pass my details on to the collection driver when he comes in today and see if he will check for me at the sorting office. Also royal mail got back to me today by email letting me know they have contacted the DO Manager to investigate with the Postie who had my parcel but it can take up to 72 hours for an outcome.

I'll keep my progress updated just incase anyone is interested or is going through a similar experience to me.
