Helllo, I was wondering if someone could help me please?
My package from a huge store in the UK has gone to Yorkshire DC and has been sat there for a week now saying my parcel will be dispatched today. Normally our post goes to the Warrington DC. I was wondering if it might have accidentally gone to the wrong DC and does anyone know if it will be sent to the correct one? How can I go about getting it back? Can I go to Yorkshire DC and collect it (it is an 1.5hours away)? Or is that not possible. I looked at changing delivery but it says that is not an option for my area at this time. I totally understand that there is a pandemic and the RM has delivered other parcels in the same week at a good time rate. I spent a lot of money, and just want my parcel or at least know it is being sorted to go to the correct DC. Can I contact them directly? And if so, is there an email address or telephone number?
The postal service is doing an amazing job at this time and I am truly grateful for them.
Many thanks

Wrong DC?
DCs are distribution centres - where items get dropped off from bulk senders. The Yorkshire DC may be closer to a particular warehouse that the sender stores your order prior to dispatch.
Or.
The Warrington DC has had problems keeping up to the work, so its been sent to another DC that has spare capacity.
Either of these is possible.
This also happens at Mail centres, and at Christmas sometimes even down to Delivery Offices.
Back to DCs, they are basically big factories and they do not have any customer-facing roles to help, so, no it would not be possible to visit them. It would be unlikely you get beyond the main gate, to be honest.
It should arrive eventually.
