Hi,

I have a customer where his delivery has been signed for but he has not received and he has spoke to delivery office and the post man can not remember delivering it.With the current situation the signature is just a line but this is common for me due to the epidemic as the postmen are signing for the parcels themselves understandably.

I am aware with some delivery companies when the signature is done that it is done on a pda device and that this also stores the gps location of when the signature is done. Is this the same with royal mail and could it be worth asking for this information ?

Thank you

Yes - the scan will also store the GPS location of the scan.
Though I am not sure how long that information is stored for.

It may be quicker to ask the recipient to ask his local delivery office to confirm whether it was delivered to the correct address.

I'm surprised they haven't already.

From your point of view I would try their customer services twitter account @RoyalMailHelp

It's usually faster to direct message them there.

Your customer should go to his delivery office around 10 am on Monday morning (earlier the office is busy, later the manager might be gone already) and ask to speak to a manager.
That manager can print out a map showing where his item was delivered.

The customer should have his ID and the tracking number with him.

That`s the fastest way as far as I know.

Although this is technically possible, in the current situation I would imagine any RM depot doesn't want
people attending their locations unnecessarily. Even if the individual took the risk to attend the depot for
a manager to be located and then spend time waiting around for said manager to logon and work out how
to use the application, the manager might only say yes it was delivered to the specific location. If not,
he/she will be wary of giving the GPS of the delivery location because of possible consequences of doing so -
and GPS can be inaccurate.

As a previous poster has said, use the correct RM helplines. That way a formal investigation should be raised.
However, you still might only find out that either it was delivered to the customer or no it wasn't (and not where it
did actually go). This way will enable an official compensation claim to be raised. Just asking at the local office won't.
