Package stuck at GBLALA / no Royal Mail update (as promised)

Post by aworriedcustomer »

Hi,

Firstly I hope everyone is managing to keep safe!

This post may be very similar to some already existing ones on this forum, apologies for that. However I would still like to post and, if possible, try and gain some clarity on whether I can expect to see a parcel I am waiting for soon (or ever).

I am awaiting the delivery of international parcel - RO002149628RU.

When tracking this parcel using the Royal Mail tracker, Royal Mail tells me the item is:
"In Transit: This item is now leaving the originating country. More information will be available when it arrives in the UK"

However, when I track the parcel on Russian Post's tracking service, I am told:
"Handed over to England for further delivery - 10 April 2020, 13:22 GBLALA, England"

A quick google and I found that GBLALA is a distribution centre in the UK, which means the parcel has been within the UK for nearly a month. Why then does the Royal Mail tracking system not acknowledge this // provide me with 'more information' as it states it would when the parcel enters the UK?

The parcel I am waiting for is a small parcel containing nothing that Customs would be even remotely interested in (I have seen in other posts that Customs is sometimes given as a potential reason for major delays).

I have also contacted Royal Mail through official channels over a week ago, but no response.

Thanks for your time.
